Offical Forex End of Day

Hi,

I have looked around on the FF forum and I cannot find anything on this.

What is the offical end of day for the forex market, so i.e, when is the interest paid, New York end of market close, as this makes a big difference when looking at charts, I was wondering if anyone could help and advise on this?

From what I know rollovers are done at 5 pm est.

Market hours:

 

1. New York opens 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST
2. Tokyo opens 7:00 pm to 4:00 am EST
3. Sydney opens 5:00 pm to 2:00 am EST
4. London opens 3:00 am to 12:00 noon EST

Does anyone think that this is very critical? As different times zone give you different charts, do they not? Therefore can this cloud your judgement, is this why forex is so unique?

This gaping flaw - the server timezone dictating when daily periods end - is only unique to MT4 (and it should have been fixed ages ago).

All other FX charting platforms I've used employ a universal 5pm EST daily period close regardless of what local timezone the client is using.
