Request for working FFCal Expert Advisor indicator

Hi everyone my name is Tom and I've been away from Forex Trading since 2012. I use an Indo Run expert advisor that worked with an FFCal indicator to filter News Events from the Forex Factory Calendar. That indicator doesn't work anymore. Why is that? Is there a new working FFCal that works for expert advisors?

I really need some help here please. We live in a world where something works one day and then it doesn't the next.

I've attached my old FFCal Indicator that was modified by EUCLID and it worked great years ago but now... nothing.

Admiral Markets do a free news indicator that plots vertical lines on the chart.
Maybe give that one a try. I use it as I need a physical line on the chart to remind me!

Thanks Clockers but I specifically specified that this is for an expert advisor... not manual trading. Really appreciate the sentiment. It has to be an FFCal that receives signals from the Forex Factory Calendar and then sends the signal to the EA. This indicator worked on Expert advisors before.

Thanks Barry.... I tried them both. The top FFCal locks in and stays in "Avoiding High Impact News" mode no matter what you do. The second one down doesn't recognise the news at all. I spoke to the guy who coded my EA and he said that maintaining News Filters for EA's requires permanent maintenance.... like I said... that's the world we live in where things that work well keep changing so they end up "not working".

My EA works perfectly on MT4 but was coded around 7 years ago so the current News Filters from Forex Factory, Daily FX and Forex TSD don't work at all. But... they all worked perfectly years ago.

That's life in this world we live in... things keep getting fixed and they end up broken. My filtering capabilities on my EA are pretty versatile so I should be OK. It would be nice to have a working News Filter FF Cal indicator that works for my Expert Advsior and just keeps working without the constant need for maintenance.

As far as I know, allow under "Expert Advisers" Tab the url: http://www.forexfactory.com/calendar.php or http://ec.forexprostools.com This is where the news get fetched from with the FFcal. See if any of his works. Regards.

Hey Barry I know the MT4 to a degree and how to set up an Expert Advisor quite well but where is the "Expert Advisors" tab where I can enter a URL? I don't manual trade and I haven't spent anytime exploring the ins and outs of the MT4 Terminal. Thanks for your help!

Thanks Nicholishen... I'll need some time to look at this. I'm thinking that the coding from my expert advisor could be outdated for any new developments regarding the Forex Factory News Filter so... I'll let you know how it goes.

Look at the top of your MT4 platform, left side: Click Tools; Options: Expert Advisors: The bottom choice of "Allow web Request" on the line in the block you enter the url. You also have to allow DDL imports and Allow Automated Trading for your expert to work. Attach FFCal to your chart as an EA and set it up. Regards.

Like my coder friend said (who's not coding EA's anymore from what I know) the News filter systems need constant maintenance and there seems to be confusion as to how it works. Having the FFCal indicator on its own chart will not help the EA to filter the News at all.

The FFCal process of communicating with the expert advisor is a process that is between the FFCal indicator and the expert advisor exclusively. Even if I get my EA coded to filter the news with a new FFCal it seems highly likely that it'll stop working sometime in the future. Whether I'm right or wrong that's how I see it at the moment and that's actually what has happened.

Even when my FFCal was working with my expert advisor previously (years ago) I remember going through several FFCal versions and having to get it fixed/modded several times due to operational problems. You'd think that it could be fixed... once and for all.

Not at all. I spoke to the guy who coded the EA. He also coded the EA to work with News Filters from other sites and he said it's a constant pain in the ass to maintain them so he's stopped being concerned about them. Best to go with a good set up.

I am using https://www.forexfactory.com/ffcal_week_this.xml in my Experts Advisior. But in last few hours this link is not opening, there is no error but it gives blank page.
Can anyone help me please regarding this?

Your not alone. I am getting the same thing too, using https://www.forexfactory.com/ffcal_week_this.xml in my Experts Advisor, same issue with the link not working.

"Error in WebRequest, Error Code=4060"

I have changed XML calendar path in my MQL file to https://cdn-nfs.faireconomy.media/ff...r_thisweek.xml
Now everything is working fine.
This new path also contains exactly same pattern in XML file, so there is no need to do any change in code except this new URL.

forexfactory.mq4 tried as well but it shows error message that "Please allow .dll imports!" however .dll imports are allowed

Can i use XBest_RV3.47 with lot= 0.1 instead of 0.01 without changing the other settings ??
