LOL, I doubt anyone could accuse you of hijacking a thread. Sounds good, I would be very interested in your results, because my random testing was not so good on the crosses... But I did a half ass job of it and I know you will test it to it's death... Scott

Hello Scott........

I'm aware of fozzy only trading the four majors. However, I want to see if this method works on ALL currency pairs. So far my forward test would "suggest" it is. Right now I'm in a cad/jpy for three days and up almost 200 pips and a eur/cad for three days and up 130 pips. Really not too bad, don't you think? You know me.............I LOVE forward testing, so I'm going to be on this one for a while and will post all my findings, the good and the not so good! And I always enjoy your comments and observations.

I just hope fozzy doesn't think I've hijacked "HIS" thread.........

fozzy, you still out there? watching the rest of us with your method?

If you are really serious about learning and using the "fozzy" trading method, I suggest you go back to the beginning, read every post and digest ALL of the information. Your time and effort will be rewarded as opposed to asking someone to quickly post an "indicator" that you can hastily paste on your charts to begin trading.

All the best................

That's really the best idea guys. Otherwise, you won't understand it. And btw, it looks like really much but often you can skip the posts about taken trades and stuff.
It's kinda annoying about good threads like this one. There're always so many people posting that you can't keep up with all that stuff...

Well tradeigel, As I said I only did a half ass job of it. I randomly looked a samples of crosses like ueurjpy and gbpchf and even audusd and it seemed price was very unstable and changed direction a lot.

But certainly even I would not trust the results. In my opinion the tests that BB is doing should be very well organized and respectable.. The forward test I ran on EURUSD from the first of 2006 was very methodical though. I posted those results earlier.

Thanks Scott

All,

The EA is coming along nicely. Tradeigel and I are getting different results in strategy tester. We're trying to figure out what's happening on that right now.

Attached are my recent results. I checked the trades opened with the EA and it seems to be in line with the method. It looks like Fozzy has difficulty in strongly trending markets. We might be able to optimize for that.

Anyway, take a look. I think the best thing to do is for me to open a new thread in the MT4 section just to discuss the EA. I can keep the latest code there and we can discuss optimizing the EA there while we continue to talk about the strategy here. Sound OK?

Ha ha! No way. I don't know anything about strategy tester. I just plug in the expert and press buttons and hope it turns out OK!

Any other strategy tester experts in the house?

Since I'm so ignorant of how this works, that's why I compared the trades in the report with what I could see on the chart. I only saw a couple discrepencies (where the MA line was negligibly above or below the BB line). So, that's why I thought the model was pretty good.

Hi Guys,

Please don't worry about hijacking "my" thread. It ceases to be mine as soon as it's posted. The contributions have been excellent and I'm reading them all with great interest.

It would appear that some traders are having success with this method. The point of posting this method was to show that you can be successful using longer timeframes and that sometimes simple ideas can work for you. When I started trading I felt that, to be profitable, I had to be in trades all the time. It was only after losing money on the shorter timeframes that I changed my focus and became more selective with my trades.

I have read the thoughts of many contributors on the setting of stop/losses. My view is that this will always be up to individual interpretation. What seems like a huge stop/loss to one trader may be nothing to another. You have to do what you are comfortable doing. I found with my trading that the previous days high/low kept me in trades that eventually became winners.

I will be absent from this thread for 2 weeks due to a long awaited vacation with my family. I look forward to reading all the many informative posts on my return. This thread has certainly grown bigger than I imagined it would and I'm very grateful to all the contibutors. Different people have different perspectives. It's these different perspectives that can often positively impact your trading.

Cheers and good trading,

Fozzy

fozzy................you are the man, I like the way you think, one of the reasons I got involved with this thread in the first place. Big charts and simple methods.

I will be in the Gold Coast area in early December and wish you lived closer. Dinner (and a few beers) would be my treat!

Cheers.....have a great holiday, we'll keep the "fozzy" method alive and well while you are away!

I received a PM asking about my use of the ATR when setting a stop loss. As I wrote before (maybe I didn't make myself clear) I'm just in the experimental phase with this. See what the man himself fozzy, wrote about the S/L just two posts above this. I am not ready to make any solid observations or suggestions. BIG stops, like fozzy's don't really bother me. But if I can refine it a little and make it more comfortable, I will. One thing I have learned about trading is that there is NO substitute for forward testing, so I'll be doing plenty of that and post any pertinent info here for everyone's consideration.
