SL guaranteed

Trying to make some money for ForexFactory, I've clicked on a banner for a broker, and this is what I found on their web site:
"Stop orders are also guaranteed to be executed when triggered"
Is this a trick statement and I don't get it?

ANY broker will ALWAYS guarantee stops to be filled. By definition, the stop becomes only a market order at your stop price, it may fill off that price....

I doubt they will guarantee a LIMIT, which HAS to fill AT your price.

So sure, I'll fill your stop, guaranteed, but it may be 40pips off your price!!!!

"When triggered" ... it's triggered when a price is reached, so it's filled when a price is reached.

are not guaranteed to be the same. Ask any broker directly, and they will tell you. It all goes back to the definitions... A market order is defined as filled at "best or next available price". Limit order is defined as exactly your price, but may not get filled. So, yes, the Stop will get filled, absolutely, but maybe not at the stop price. All the stop price does is provide a point at which a market order is entered. From there, it is simply a market order to be filled at best or next price.

You have hit upon a shady bit of advertising, I believe, but is used often. Then, once a person gets a slipped fill, and maybe (probably) loses money because of it, they get perterbed.... ESPECIALLY at news time. Check those threads here. Story after story about fills off the stop price. It's happened to me many a time, and is simply the nature of the business. If you exactly your price, then make it a limit order, but it won't fill in volatile times... simply no entry.

Read the Terms of Agreement. Many times they may "guarantee the stop loss under normal market conditions"!!!! Be sure you read for this, it means something totally different than "Guaranteed"!!!
