Although knowing deep down that keeping a consistent trade journal is absolutely necessary to improve and optimize your trading I like most traders have continued to put it off. In a game of playing probabilities why on earth would we not track the...probabilities!? I think one key reason we do this is a lack of defined parameters, you can't track what you haven't defined. This is partially the issue for myself as I trade more of a discretionary method as opposed to a hard and fast system. But I think the main reason is because it's the boring and tedious part of trading that makes you face the reality of your trading as you would now have hard and honest numbers.
I've checked out a couple online journal options, TraderVue and Edgewonk. TraderVue doesn't seem to have much to offer where as Edgewonk seems to have a lot of potential. I'd like to hear if anyone has had experience with either of these or what other options are our there. Thanks in advance!
