Hi Jagz,

Have I experienced some bug in Trailing Stop pin with Candle High/Low mode? This mode is extremely helpful but doesn't seem to work correctly. Can you help me here understand why did it happen? IMO it might be related to Trailing Candle's shift/index which in this case should be always equal to 1, i.e. last closed bar...

Hi!

Thanks for flagging this problem and extra thanks for the detailed images explaining the problem!

Looking through my stuff, it appears I've made a few changes to the Trailing Stop PIN that have not been published, including adding a search depth to Candle High/Low.

I've now uploaded my latest version 1.14 here.
I hope it now works as expected ... let me know :-)

Regards
Jagz

3 x THANK YOU!

Can you please elaborate more on the logic of Candle depth, is it the same as candle shift?

Also would it be possible to add to the Candle Hi/Lo ATR threshold which would add x% of preferred ATR. If the ATR threshold is set to 0 then it won't add anything, but it would create a buffer for those instances where price takes your TSL and then continues moving towards your previous profitable direction. Would appreciate very much your answer!

Hi, so candle depth, maybe I should call that lookback? Starting from the current candle, it is how many of the previous candles will be checked for the highest high or the lowest low.

I'll look at your idea of adding %atr to candle hi/lo. Right now, you can add some extra headroom to the high/low using the Trail Points / Indicator Offset parameter. i.e. a value of 20 will add an extra 20 points to high or low candle value.

Still not clear and something wrong...

First screenshot - lookback is 1, i.e. last week's High as SL, but the weekly high is used of this current week's:

Second screenshot - lookback is 2, and the SL is set on the high which was formed 4 weeks ago:

Yet third screenshot - lookback 3 - sets a nonsense - high of 9 weeks old:

(also on D1 @ lookback 4 the SL guide is set on current day's high)

So having had no luck hunting for a bug in the High/Low calculations, I finally tracked the issue to a typo with the weekly timeframe. It was calculating MN1 instead of W1 and this would have been affecting all modes. I haven't been using the weekly timeframe so I hadn't noticed it

Also, I adjusted the lookback so that it starts from candle 1 rather than candle 0 (which I think was a cause of confusion).

Version 1.15

One more thing to note. There is a failsafe built into the Trailing Stop levels so that if you configure the pin and an SL level would already be breached it shifts the SL distance for that symbol to prevent the trade from being immediately closed.

I added this because I found it very annoying when adjusting the TS settings and a mistake would close a bunch of trades! This will have no impact in normal operation where trades are opened after the pin has been configured. But, when you are checking levels against trades that are already open, you need to take this into account.

Borrowing the words from an ol' good traders' song I am glad you were able to give that dag-gone "bug" a toss! I guessed it might be a case because I noticed you're using your own enum for timeframes instead of built in mql4 which has a current timeframe in it (Although there's still one tiny little typo left in the description which does not anyhow affect the work of a pin )

Lookback from candle 1 is a good decision as there's really no point to track from current candle

Good point and addition of a failsafe mod! This is one of the reasons I did not use the TSL pin as experience lots of closes too BTW, can you explain how to use the Breakeven ATR? Especially "Trigger at % ATR" and "Move to % ATR" settings when do they activate. I suppose % ATR should change every time whenever a new ATR data comes in? But from which point are those Trigger and Move percents calculated?

hi Jagzuk,

Thank you for your all support and great work on PINs. Could you please help me to create a PIN for ATR projection levels with OnePIn or a new scanning indicator?

there are 4 ATR levels where we can look for the price reached to those levels or above to the laves(Low2, Low1, High2, and High1), it would be helpful if the price reached levels shown in a table format for all the currencies. like onePin visual display. Please help me out with this request. it would help to have a better decision in taking the trade. Thank you so much for your support in advance.
find the attached custom indicator( i got it from FF), it is an ex4 file.

JagzFX One PIN allows a wide range of MT4 Custom Indicators to be used as PINs without the need to write any code! Could this be the Lord of the PINs? Apologies to the family and fans of J.R.R. Tolkien for what follows: In the Land of Forex where the Signals hide. One PIN to hunt them all, One PIN to find them, One PIN to bring them all, and in a dashboard bind them. In the Land of Forex where the Signals hide. I know many of you want to make your own PINs but don't feel comfortable doing the coding. So this is for you. You can configure One PIN...

Hi JagzFX ! I create a signal with volume indicator based on your "One pin". I would like to set it up like this: If there is an unusually large red volume bar that will signal the next downtrend, in contrast to the large white bearish volume bar.
Can you help me with the wrong setting in the picture below?
Thank you very much !
Wishing you good health and success!
