How is this channel indicator calculated?

Can someone please tell me how the location i.e. price of the little dot that appears on a new channel is calculated? The indicator in this thread. https://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=434255. I attached a pic showing the dot I'm talking about.

It is the MA +/- the ATR * volatility factor (Kv).

MA is calculated depending on whether or not you use useMA_HiLoEnvelope.

Only predict where that dot would appear if the price moved enough to form a new channel. Do you know what I mean? On every candle, obviously a new channel could possibly form if the price were to move enough in a certain direction, so could you have it so on every open candle the indicator shows where that dot would be if the price were to move enough in one direction to form a new channel?
Yes it should be possible (but I do not have time now).

You need to calculate what prices would cause the MA to cross the Uptrend/DownTrend (whichever is visible) lines.
If you put the MA onto chart (same values as used in Volt indi) you will see that the indi changes colour as the MA crosses them.

Thanks, but I don't see what that added other than a dot on top of the other dot. I'm talking about putting a dot on every candle, which shows where a new channel would potentially open, even if it doesn't.
It puts lines where potential change should be.
No dots added by me.

Those lines do not show on my chart. I'm using Forex.com's Mt4. At first I thought it was because the lines are black and my background is black, but I see some of the lines are white and they don't show on my black background, either. I am using the default settings in the indicator on all time frames. And I have changed the settings some and still no lines.

Yes, 1090 and that fixed it. But I still don't understand what the lines are telling me. In some places the price closes past one of the lines but a new channel doesn't open. And the thing I was asking about was the price or location of the dot at the beginning of a new channel. As you can see the price isn't right on the dot when a new channel opens, so how is the price of location of the dot itself calculated? Is there a way to see where the dot would be on each candle if a new channel opened/

That can't be right because look at the first candle of any new channel. The candle that has a dot above or below it. Your indicator has another dot on this same candle, but if your indicator did what I want, your dot would be on top of the dot that indicates the new channel, because that's where the new channel dot appeared, so that's where your indicator should have said it would appear if the new channel was created.

Come on! I explained to you in post #2 how to calculate what you wanted.
Last example showed the dots as requested but you do not appear to be able to realise dot of new trend would be where new trend dot appears!
Cannot put it there before the bar close.

In case you are unsure, I am annoyed now after trying to help you!

Just to humour you have re-coded to put extra dot for you.

I'm not sure why you're upset, because if you thought you answered my question in post #2, why does your indicator put the dots in the wrong place? This new indicator puts the dots in a different spot than before, and the first candle of each channel still has dots in 2 different places. It should only have 1 dot. See the attachment. The one on the left is the first indicator and the one on the right is the 2nd indicator you just uploaded. All settings are identical. The dots are in drastically different spots. So even if one of these is right, they both can't be right. And the fact that the first candle of each new channel still has dots in 2 different places means something isn't right.

Sorry but really have no idea what you are doing.
The indicator is the same except that it adds 1 extra dot at the beginning of the new trend, that is all. (as per attached pic in last post).
(which is what I had understood you to want?).

Obviously I am not helping with what you want so I will leave now.
Perhaps someone else will have a better idea.
