Hello friends,
Let me suppose you are a member in the Board of Federal Reserve Governers and you will vote today, what would you chosse:
1- a rate hike then you have: supressing inflation+ stronger Dollar+
moderate slowdown of the econoy OR
2-pause of rate hikes then you have: intensifying inflation+ fragile Dollar+ the same slowdown of economy

i give my vote for the first choice! so what would be yours?

I would like to ask some of the 'older' members, what is is like to 'live' in an enviroment where infaltion is a problem.

IMHO, raise rates. (50bp 6months ago!)

You know I think I agree with you. This pause was a white wash... Come next FOMC inflation is really going to rear it's ugly head... My property value here in SLC doesn't mind it though. My house has gone up in value 5 times since I bought it in 1992...

And at the 12% mortgage rates we had in the 80s how many could afford your house?

And wages don't keep pace with inflation very well.

Inflation sucks. I'm with you - I hope Bernanke keeps it under control.

I don't care either way as long as I get sustained movement either way to bank some pips on Cable.
Life is too short to have anything but delusional notions about yourself.
