I am assuming that you have say 28 charts open for the main pairs?

If you do a Arrange Windows with the icon shortcut or Alt+R and then Maximize the first chart, the Ctrl+Tab will cycle them in order

So the logic behind these actions is that I need to press Arrange Windows button, lets say, every time after I disorderly manually shuffle my 28 charts open for the main pairs + GOLD + USDMXN + USDZAR + USDNOK in the Windows row and then I need to maximize the first chart I put their? Why MT4 won't just pick the order by itself, like Chrome?
Anybody know if I can get a script or EA that will monitor a chart and close an open order if it detects a change of colour in a particular indicator?

I don't know why you would manually disorderly the charts? Once the first chart is Maximized, use Ctrl + Tab to move to each chart for analysis.

You can rearrange the tabs along the bottom but I'm not sure if they will stay there

You can experiment with that I suppose; normally I just open the 28 charts alphabetically, AUDCAD to USDJPY, then hit the Arrange Windows icon

And immediately save that as a profile, good luck

I would manually shuffle them because I want them to stay in the order I need them to be.

But I found another problem: after arranging the tabs with that button and maximizing the 1st one they will cycle in order if the cycle starts from the 1st tab. But if I will start to cycle from any tab, the order will be lost. If later I will start to cycle yet from another random tab, the order will be completely messed up. Utter nonsense.

But even with 28 charts, I can quickly get to the chart I want, either by Ctrl + Tab to go forward or Ctrl + Shift + Tab to go back

If you have fewer charts, just click on the tab of that chart; I don't really see a problem navigating around MT4

Either use the keyboard shortcuts or click where you want to go; I do both, and save the profile often if you make changes because if it gets shut down, it reverts to previous settings when opened again.

I watch some trading presentation video and am appalled by the lack of knowledge of some users; they use so many key clicks to do a simple thing like delete a trend line when all you need to do is click it and press the Delete key......

Ladies and gents,

Just use the attached code. Get a vertical column of buttons one for each pair you want.

Edit the code list of pairs - what you want and in the order you want them. (or you can do it tediously from input screen).

Underneath the pair buttons are buttons for changing the timeframe.

You can build on the base code attached. I have 7 charts on the tabs not all with same symbol and with different time frames. Four charts of same pair are visible, three others are not seen but can be changed or only some of them, Two invisble Charts I do not want to ever change the symbol or timeframe. So I can select say AJ button and five charts (4 seen, one unseen) change to AJ and two do not. I can change the timeframe on the main chart while leaving everything else unchanged.

So it is possible to update timeframes/change the symbol as many as you have loaded, or only some of them.

I have a second instance on another pair but its cut down so it only works on the one chart for doodling but both pair and timeframe can be changed uniquely to only that chart, i.e doesn't affect any others.

The key functions you need to have the tools for your own awesome tool are;

ChartID
ChartSetSymbolPeriod
ChartFirst()
NextChart(previous_chart)
ObjectGetString
ObjectSet

Using ChartSaveTemplate and ChartApplyTemplate on your doodling screen (and at extreme all your desired charts but it was enough work to get this far frankly) you can save all your boxes and markups.

When you change screens they remain unique to that pair, and when you select that Button next time your old template comes back for that pair with everything drawn on it previously still there. There is a lot of information management required before you start coding.

The attached was someone else's code that is the engine for the buttons and which should satisfy what people here have been trying to do NOW, i.e. just mindlessly click away from chart to chart in always the same way/order. But any objects you created will stay there and you will get rubbish build up.

The screenshot is what is possible if you are prepared to spend 80 hours stuffing around as a non-expert coder. Even an expert coder would take a couple of days. (there is a challenge for someone).

By any chance, could you share some versions of Buttons you created? Sounds interesting what you said here.


Since you understand indi's code, did you notice, when we place multiple buttons in a row, that they are placed somehow "from right to left"? Can it be made the other way around? Could you fix it, if it's not very complicated and time consuming?

I do not understand your cryptic requirements.

I suggest you re-order the "List of symbols" so they come out in the order/arrangement you want.

There is no way I am going to start coding anything if you can't describe what you are trying to do, and when it is a simple edit task.
this what I mean

List of symbols : a,b,c,d,e,f,g.h.i.j...

comes out as
c,b,a
f,e,d
...

so reorder the list as

c,b,a,f,e.d....

or whatever order you want
BTW, looking at your list of pairs, you have the crappiest choices. Thinly traded and huge spreads.

I suggest you use a screening tool such as ADR and find out the Average Daily range over 5 days and then choose the top 6 or so to check out for trading. You won't make money if nothing moves.

NOK, SEK, MXN and ZAR pairs should be forever disposed of.

Yep, that's what I want.

How come it's cryptic? Prevailing part of the world writes from lest to right, same I want from this indi.

So I will disagree with you on this.

This is hanover's Display Info indicator.
The fact the MXN, ZAR and NOK appear at the top of your list doesn't mean they are great trading currencies. Check the actual dollar value of the daily ranges, and the spread for exampleon the ZAR and its swaps long and short..

No. I didn't write the original code. The code can be changed, but its faster just to quickly edit the pairs if its a one time thing.
When I open my charts on mt 4 platform, all the 1 hr charts have gaps in them. I have to go to 4 hr.tf to get charts without these gaps. I go to charts on tool bar and click on refresh and this sometimes gets rid of the gaps and a normal 1 hr chart shows. Can anyone please advise me if there is a solution please Btk

Just normal behaviour with MT4 on either a slow connection or you have heaps of charts to populate. If you have been away a few days with either of the slow connection or heaps of cahrts, there is a lot of catching up to do.

You may also check options. Reduce the bars in chart.
