I'm sorry but it is possible to run it only on strategy tester since the product is for selling in Metatrader Market.
I've yet to see a profitable EA that wasn't a result of a selective bias.

It's a great business; create 30 EAs that do not correlate, after a while 1 will stand out. Cancel all traces of failed accts and leave only the most profitable one in your Trade Explorer. Sell that info to fund the next round of EAs. Rinse. Repeat.

Ok, so here is mine.
Fully automated running non stop since beginning of the year.
It runs on a cent account and start date is set to current month because my broker keeps data for 1 month only and then deletes it.
So far, returns have been: Jan:3,94%, Feb:18,93%, Mar:3,16%
EA has been in development since 2+ years, it's a martingale that trades only EU, and I'm still making some refinements on it from time to time.

In my opinion backtests are very useful for debugging and if conducted with good data end correct settings give you a realistic forecast of what will happens in real trading.
If you have bad results in backtest you cannot expect to be profitable in real market.

Why use RoboForex? Only 1 month of data? So you can't look at their price history before March?

That's only on cent accounts, standard accounts have no limit of historic data and so far I'm happy with them.

An EA is profitable in backtesting, and when you put it on live no longer profitable... is it possible?

countless nights of self studying, i've gotten the logic i want into codes. now still need fine tuning which i am definitely not capable off. that said, i've yet to find someone capable to tweak it for me. couple of scums on FF which replied to my ad for help ended up taking my ea/logic and never replied me. so yeah. gonna shelve it till i am competent enough to completely tweak it myself

also not v sure how to get modelling quality up. perhaps someone can advise.

it is designed for EU and GU, but if you custome analyze it on myfxbook on only EURUSD pair, it shows excellent consistent returns but problem I see is that 6 months of track record is not enough for me, do you people also think like that ?

The question should be show me a profitable EA over 1 year? Or even maybe the question should be "show me a EA that doesnt in the end wipe your account!?!

give up the pipe dream if EAs ffs.

Hi Bicarus
the best performing EA platform and data is the one from Dukascopy. The JForex platform is very flexible and caters for any kind of event known to man. You can get many coders to help you as it is Java based and if you keep the modules separate (ie Rule Engine, Trade management etc), you might even be able to code it without having the threat of theft.
At the same time, trading and IT go hand in hand these days, therefore no EA with just work all the time.

All the above is my opinion and off course many people will disagree.

PS: Back testing in MT4 can only show you the performance in theory and reality will be worse than theses results.
