Oct. 28 (Bloomberg) -- British American Tobacco Plc, Europe’s largest cigarette maker, said shipments declined for the first time in almost two years during the third quarter as markets deteriorated from Brazil to Japan and South Africa.
The quantity of cigarettes sold in the three months ended Sept. 30 fell 2.6 percent to 185 billion, the London-based company said today on its Web site. Nine-month shipments rose 2 percent to 533 billion, weakening from 5 percent growth in the first half and 7 percent in the opening quarter of the year."

Another huge slump in the stock market here, Bovespa is setting up a Monthly pin bar, which would call for year's top already put

But Dow is far from putting a pin bar in October, that's a hope for more this year...

Eurusd slump is also an indication of carry trade unwind, people fleeing from the stock market...

Anything below 1.46 cracks the steep channel in the weekly...

It goes to show you, next week should be interesting

I went from 1 pack a day to 2 packs a day recently. Ansiety, problems, so forth. I was smoking heavily.

It was when I realized I had lost control.

This was the number one reason I decided to quit all at once. If I had decided to "slow down", I'd be smoking the same right now. I know myself.

U.S. Jobless Benefit Recipients Decline to Lowest Since March

By Courtney Schlisserman

Oct. 29 (Bloomberg) -- The number of Americans collecting unemployment insurance fell more than forecast to the lowest level in seven months, a government report showed.
The number of people receiving jobless benefits declined by 148,000 to 5.8 million in the week ended Oct. 17, the lowest since March 21 and biggest weekly drop since July, Labor Department figures showed today in Washington. Initial jobless claims fell by 1,000 to 530,000 in the week ended Oct. 24, from 531,000 the prior week.
Companies are cutting few jobs as they see more evidence of a recovery, helped by government stimulus efforts and less weakness in housing and manufacturing. A rebound in hiring may take longer to materialize than other parts of the economy, and economists predict the unemployment rate will rise to 10 percent by early 2010.
“The trend in the job numbers seems to be saying that the situation is getting better,” Joel Naroff, chief economist at Naroff Economic Advisors Inc. in Holland, Pennsylvania, said before the report. “It may not be until the spring that we see overall job growth. There is still a lot of work to be done to get us to a self-sustainable expansion.”

Weak Dollar Is ‘Welcome Change’ for McDonald’s, PPG Profits

By Thomas Black

Oct. 29 (Bloomberg) -- McDonald’s Corp., United Technologies Corp. and PPG Industries Inc. are among the companies whose earnings may get a boost in the fourth quarter from a weak dollar because of foreign operations and exports.
U.S. firms are benefiting when they convert revenue from Europe with the euro touching $1.50 this month and having climbed 16 percent from a year ago as of yesterday. United Technologies, the maker of Pratt & Whitney jet engines, adds $10 million in annual operating income for every penny the euro gains against the dollar, Chief Financial Officer Gregory Hayes said in an Oct. 20 conference call.

Yield curve pointing up as well, all signs say recovery except for debt and jobs but jobs are stabilizing as well as the housing sector. Debt still skyrocketing.
