Would you still trade if you went blind? If you did trade, what would your trading system be? I've actually thought about this a lot over the years when trying to design trading systems. This has really helped me avoid using indicators. The best idea that I can think of is using a system similar to Jacko using round numbers as a guidepost and employing proper money management.

Does anyone else have input on this?

It'd be like, would you drive if you're blind... based on your ears to listen the noise on the street and your friend guide you... (though I believe no one will dare to guide blind people driving.)

Interesting question, While I have not thought about if I was blind, i have thought about how to follow the market while I cannot look at a chart, (same thing I guess ) ie while I am driving. I have thought it would be nice to have some sort of indicator that would call out the price say every every minute or so. Kind of like the old days that Jesse Livermore talks about when he says that someone would sit at the tape machine and call out the prices so the boy could record them on the chalkboard.
In trading, there is no bullshit. You either make money or you don't.

A wide-format ticker tape machine that prints out continuous braille charts. Special braille notation specific to trading would probably need to be developed.

Another option might be specialized software hooked up to an artificial voice box that would call out prices, reversals, chart patterns, etc.

I've thought about this as well, but never really had an answer until I read through this thread.

I think a great technology would be for chart information to be made available by both sound AND touch, maybe through extensive use of Braille or even something like VR gloves. Having a tactile connection with an object as it moves and changes could certainly put a person in tune with how that object (price volume or whatever) is behaving.

Imagine being able to reach out and FEEL the price as it moved up and down while hearing some kind of pleasant rising and falling tone as an indicator moved into OS/OB levels etc. Jab your right finger into the price and you've bought at the market; use your left hand and you've sold. It could be like playing an instrument while constantly having to improvise....

Just some random babbling.

I think the technology already exists.

"Off-the-shelf" components could be integrated with custom software to create a complete trading environment.

most likely not. I am young, and have grown up in a "digital" age. The only way of "seeing" the market is through charts. Not to mention I am an extremely visual/technical person by nature. I don't use "indicators", I just need to "see" price and it's patterns to really get an idea of what's going on. Give me ten books on how to rip apart an engine of a car, and that won't accomplish much. Give me some tools and a couple quick tips and I'll have the engine rebuilt in no time at all!

I may be able to trade very long term, as trend trading long term is a lot easier, but requires a larger capital to make it worthwhile.

I'm dyslexic. According to my charts, the Eur has been going down for the past two years.

95% of people with both good eyes, hears and hands coming into forex cannot even trade. If one belong to this group before going blind
I think the person will find other things to do. No trading tech for
blind at the moment. They will even be scared and frustrated to think
of trading with blind eyes

For those 5% making it, I think many will quit and invest
their profits in other businesses.

Some could try trading by giving instructions to someone
who is not blind.

Those who will want to do it alone will most certainly lose
their hard earn profits.

Ignored
Thought about this myself. I'd actually have someone draw / create charts for me based on a braille like system I'd invent and patent myself to subsequently market and become a millionaire from. While at the same time growing the income from that by trading blind, naturally.

No, I'm not kidding!

Although I think I'd need an assistant...oh, another way would be to literally have three dimensional blocks on a large layout table on which I could place and shift s/r lines and then have people who can see what the numbers of those bars and lines are put them in...or just have the layout table have braille numbers at the side...something like that.
Trust price. Know yourself.

It's an old theme, but our firm seems will develop very easy solution for MT4 platform how to orientate in what market is doing. I am full time trader and facing visual problems, so I may need it some day. Will start sooner, than lateer.
