I was looking on the FF commercial website and came across a fund manager who claims "amazing" returns.
So I delved into see where the funds go and what broker they use.
Came across www.knightcapitalmarkets.com No sign of country ? no regulation ?

This is completely different to the Knight capital wholesale broker

Anyone shed some light on this broker?

Oh goodness, the "fund manager" I presume you're referring to is Fortress Fund. These guys recently sent me an unsolicited PDF prospectus. It's a laughable attempt at professionalism. No names, no address, no license. (RED FLAGS #1, #2, & #3) In other words, a complete & utter joke (and quite likely a total con job).

Their site lists "Jack Martin" as "Chief Analyst" and "Ethan Cooper" as "Managing Director", though per google, they both might as well be "Mr. Anonymous", that is aside from a different thread warning of what a potential scam this is. (RED FLAGS #4 & #5)

Their Contact Us page simply lists a postal address for Ethan S. Cooper in Switzerland, ok... (RED FLAG #6) And their corporate entity name is? Or how about their FINMA fund management details & registration? Oh both are completely non-existent, well of course. After all, who has time for listing these pesky details, or adhering to regulatory laws & requirements... (RED FLAGS #7 & #8)

Their "preferred broker" is Knight Capital Markets, a heretofore unheard of retail FX broker with a private WHOIS and a blocked archive.org history... (RED FLAGS #9, #10, and #11). As you already observed, this is a cheap attempt to mooch off of the Knight Capital Group prominent FX brand/company. (RED FLAG #12) As is the nomenclature of "Fortress Fund" a similarly nefarious attempt to mooch off of the Fortress Investment Group family of funds. (RED FLAG #13)

Knight Cap Markets' Contact Us page simply lists "Helsinki, Finland". No corporate name, no street address.. (RED FLAG #14 & #15) Even if that's remotely accurate, congrats for breaking Finland's laws and operating without MiFID regulation. (RED FLAGS #16 & #17)

Back to Fortress Fund - they brag about a myfxbook track record, but don't provide a link. (RED FLAG #18) They do have a presumably fabricated FXstats history (a mere 32,500% return, in other words, completely batsh-t crazy). So much for even attempting to come across as legitimate here.. (oh and RED FLAG #19)

Fortress Fund does showcase a cadre of cheery video testimonies (almost certainly paid actors). Nothing like taking a page right out of the playbook of the Secure Investment billion dollar forex fraud... (RED FLAG #20)

Sadly, a Fortress Fund promoter is also a commercial member of ForexFactory, and has a thread on here no one else can reply to.. (RED FLAG #21). Well that sure is nice of you, Mr. Stclause, to post some youtube videos of stoutly professors, as if that somehow adds credibility to Fortress Fund's total joke of an operation..

I wonder what will be censored first, my post here, or their thread (if and when the gig is up).

I had the same emails and curiously did some looking around too as it all seemed to good to be true...

On their front page they have the following advertisements..
Doing a google search for these awards doesn't appear to bring up anything related to their company which is definitely some more red flags..

I got offer from them too. Please be warned that all results verified by myfxbook (and other similar websites) can be fabricated even from reliable broker. They have unverified account from "NO NAME" broker. I am 99,99999999999999% sure that it's total scam! Don't waste your money.

I didn't want to point the finger too abruptly earlier, but after further review (mostly of the FPA threads), I concur with the other posters that both Fortress Fund and Knight Capital Markets are absolutely running a scam operation.

I also discovered how this ended up in my inbox, from none other than the scam artist aiders and abettors at forexverified.com - speaking of which, there's a significant amount of evidence in the other threads of this being a clone of last year's FX-Trading-Account.com scam (i.e., they didn't even bother changing the promotional materials, entire pages are exactly the same...). Similarly, that one was also promoted by the scam abettors at forexverified.com...

I implore FF moderators to take the high ground and remove the Fortress Fund promoter's commercial thread (or at least provide viewers a warning of some kind). That thread is equal parts sleaze and reprehensible..

On a lighter note - a great piece of comedy in all of this is the fake linkedin profile of Mr. MD Ethan Cooper, which shows a 6 year stint as an "Account Advisor" at the BANK OF ENGLAND...

I was involved with this program two years ago when they were on of the #1 traders at Currensee.com
(A very well respected, American-regulated company). They had the identical performance as they claim via this broker, Knight.

Now, I can't participate in this fund because I am an American.

However... for the sake of comedy, this is how amateur your "investigation" work is for anyone seriously interested in these guys.
1-3) I was actually impressed. I got it in an email last week from a newsletter and it's a very nice put together PDF compared to half the Forex "Funds" out there:

4-5) Ever picked up the phone to call them?
I called them last week and they informed me I cannot invest because of my American passport and I spoke to both Jack and Bryce as well.
If you can't find someone all over Google, that doesn't make them a scam.

6-8) Super aggressive Forex funds are never regulated... ever.
If they were, they'd have to be registered in dozens of countries.

9-13)Questioning Knight Capital? Really?
The website is from 2006, www.kms.asia is all over the internet for years (their asian site).

14-17) One of my favorites...
Finland does not regulate Forex.
Hence FinFX and other brokers NOT having regulation in Finland.

18-19) Have you ever looked at the top programs on MyFXBook?
I use signal copier to follow them and lots have 10,000++ percent performance at all kinds of brokers.

You can't "fake" a MyFXBook. I worked with ATC Brokers as an IB and the way MT4 works it does not have an "import" feature to add in a statement.
If it did, you'd see WAY more "great traders".... there's a reason we see way more BAD traders.

20) I agree they look like paid actors.
As on every single Investment website though.

21) The other forum thread on here seems to be by an affiliate marketer because it has a "clickbetter" link.
That's an affiliate program.

It is honestly very sad to see some people desperate to rip ANYTHING to being a "scam" when there's no actual evidence of anyone being scammed in a company that's several years old.

1) first position: 11.12.2013 09:00 12.12.2013 09:00 NZDUSD Buy 8.00 0.82748 0.82839 9.1 848.96 1d 5.88%
2) third position: 11.12.2013 19:00 12.12.2013 09:00 NZDUSD Buy 8.00 0.82199 0.82839 64.0 5240.96 14h 0m 57.02%

Third position was opened when account had no money on it. Deposit + GBPUSD trades = 5047 USD balance
First position: 0,82199 - 0,82748= -54,9 pips, 54,9 *80= 4392 USD
Second position: 0.82199 - 0.82336= -13,7 pips, 13,7 *80 = 1096 USD
5047 USD -4392 USD - 1096 USD = -414 USD
It is impossible to open position when you have negative balance. These two positions would be closed due to stop out level...

KGB guy I totally agree with your assessment. Any experienced Forex trader has seen a dozens of these so called 'brokers' come and go. Your quick check of all the regular areas a Broker should appear or provide info for, is spot on! Anyone still using their small percentage of brain power would come to the same conclusion as you. Then again (and this broker seems to depend on these folks) there is a sucker born every microsecond.

Yes, they bought an aged domain, then promptly hid the WHOIS ownership data and archive.org history, hmmm...

Found an address:

Knight Capital Markets Ltd.
Lautatarhankatu 6. 00580 Helsinki. Finland

It's a virtual office address, which is likely why they don't want to show it on their website...

Now if they were actually based in Finland, then they'd be operating illegally without a license. Still, I'd advise anyone who has already engaged with this firm (or with Fortress Fund) to contact the Finnish FSA, so that they may issue their own warning.

Per their TOS, Knight Capital Markets Ltd is in fact incorporated in the island of St Vincent.. (shame on MetaQuotes' compliance department for approving their MT4 server license under a false Finnish address....)

According to this link, Knight Capital Markets Ltd is the primary shareholder of a UK company - KCM GLOBAL SERVICES LTD (incorporated August 2015; using yet another virtual office address; director Dulce Mariela Gomez Alcibar, Mexican national, age 23). This is presumably the entity they used for setting up their payment processing accounts (Mistral Pay Ltd for bank wires and PeachPayments for credit cards).


FWIW - ElComandante's entirely false claim that "Finland does not regulate Forex" is easily the most damning evidence yet that he's directly involved in this charade....
