Need4Speed Scalping

I'm new to everything here but want to contribute a bit. As I swim through the thread, I could not find Histogram version of N4S05 with the new rules. I dig some code and here the result. There's big difference compare to prior histogram version.

N4S_05 is not he latest version,why do u recommend this?

As for manual trade, I see N4S05 is more interesting. N4S06 is for auto I think. I've been watching it for some days. It is a good tool to me and a great tool to somebody. The way you use it makes difference. I don't recommend any version because each one has its edge. Just try and see it yourself!

Just finished reading this whole thread; and I find it interesting.

After reading all the pages here and found interesting , but backtesting doesnt give a positive results. Khalil could you please have a look on it and make some changes it to profitable please. Thanking for all your efforts.

I find this thread very intriguing. I had a similar idea. I'd like to contribute as well!

1) There are too many attachments. Which is the latest version?
2) Why doesn't the backtest work on N4S_06.ex4?

This does indeed. It's not impossible for a successful EA. With this speed idea, now all we need is a strategy in which it should measure the speed, or work during that time. To mitigate, a disciplined strategy that enters on only favourable trades. Winners over losers, overtime it could really make sense. Putting odds in our favour as much as possible. 1 winner is all you might really need in a day, but it shouldn't be luck at all, but achieved through technical filter, and after as little losses, however not yielding into loss, our motive as main.

I'm testing it this week with a strategy filter. Let's see what it gets us.

Correct.

I recommend N4S_05 (latest update) to be used as an informative indicator (disable auto trading in expert properties).
N4S_06 was an attempt to automate using an indicator to hold the data, however, the indicator data lose its reliability on any refresh or restart of MT4 as tick data is not saved in MT4.

I hope time comes and we have an MT5 version which saves tick data.

Combined Answer:

  1. an impulse is a quick push up/down in the price.
  2. Speed = (number of points moved)/(Time in seconds)
  3. a move is considered an impulse when it exceeds a certain threshold
  4. Example:

    1. settings : Speed Threshold 20 points, Time 1 second
    2. depending on the market volatility multiple ticks are received within each second (MT4 is known for its latency, I am sure we can get better implementations on other platforms Ninja, cTrader, MT5 .. etc)
    3. if price moves up 8 points in 1 second --> no impulse (now max bull is 8)
    4. if price moves up 27 points in 1 second --> 1 bull impulse (now max bull is 27)
    5. if price moves down 42 points in 1 second --> 2 bear impulses (now max bear is 42)
    6. ...

is there anyway to keep the impulses on the chart after its refreshed?

I have installed the indicator n4speed histogram02 but I do not get the same as in your screenshot I have to activate something or do something in particular for this indicator that you have attached?
