HA! I am new too, but this one I can answer. Take the .ex4 file (the expert advisor, and drag it into the 'experts' folder in the Metatrader 4 directory.

Ok - i have installed EA but always get zero trades done.
Got two questions then:
1. Could you post any stupidest EA and tell me exactly what do I write down to run backtest [preferably with screenshots] what in expert properties, what period what symbol properties, what model, shall i tick optimization, what date is perfect [i suppose its depends on used period]
2. When I have some EA how can i see what exactly does it do. So if someone upload EA saing how good is it, can I figure out how exactly it works if I'm not a coder?
