PS And if anyone is still wondering if Oanda is slipping, they certainly are. My friend who was scalping on Oanda abt 2 weeks ago, said last week that he is getting slipped 1 pip each time (enter and exit). Also, I have demo acct open at the same time, and the price is always 1pip against my position versus the price on the demo. I think they have a manual way to flag an acct, and then set some algorithms in place to delay price to ur desktop, but u always get filled at price at server. Waiting to make enough money to open cnx acct.

I have been complaining about the same thing, and I promise, this will be my last. Kermut's description is exactly what I have been seeing on my account for the past 2 weeks, day in and day out. I believe that my account has been flagged to operate this way. I also believe that there isn't really a price delay as Kermut points out. I see it as getting filled at the real market price, when your FXtrade platform still shows the Oanda "inner" community price. Inner here refers to the users on fxtrade, and not the interbank.

Despite this price difference/slippage, I must admit that rainbow scalpers can still make money through Oanda. Granted, not nearly as much. If your account operates this way, just train yourself to take fewer trades each time you trade. Anywhere from 1-3 per session would be good.

When I try to follow PA like that my entrances and exits end up being just about the exact opposite of yours.

Lots of nice entries there with all kinds of styles and prob no style wants to trade that red circle (but i guess you can see that on your own).

Nice...

During the day I trade on my work; So in the time between job-activities I scalp a bit. In the evening I take (for now) much screentime and take trades that feel good to me.

Hopefully I'll scalp like you in the (near) future.

Watch the rainbow, identify the direction, see the direction change and jump in, does the price stall or reverse? get out, does it continue with some momentum? jump back in. if not, go jump in the other way

Thanks Canyouseeme,
Now that I try it the market turns into a tight chop.

Did you see the gold chart, it's been moving in a nice fluid way. Perhaps I'll try to work that chart (XAU)

Just for fun since I'm trading pennies. At one point: -46 pips

Ended the trade with +3 pips. Risk/Reward 15 to 1.

Haha yeah the market indeed was nothing I would trade in.

Edit:
Now you can always get back in if you got out too early, and if you get back in and the price moves against you or not at all, get out at 0 or -1 pip.

CYSM,
Now that the market started moving again I tried your method.

Basically what was killing me was the wait and see attitude. When I wait for the price direction to be clear and definate then it reverses after I get in.

This time I switched directions without "thinking" about it and am up +14 pips.

Overtrading, break-even, call it a day for now; Somewhere along the way a stop-loss has been hit (not have set it, but everything happend so fast, so may have accidentally has set it) - was ready to flip anyway.

I was taking positions in the red circle, but was ready for action to flip (with double and triple units); Something was going to happen (or straight down or straight up). It went up...

This isn't buy and hold. Even when you're frustrated don't vary
from the method. You were almost half way there (entries not
too bad) before. Exits weren't there is all. Stick with practicing
just like post #1. Throwing caution to the wind and kamikaze
trading, even with pennies is really counterproductive. I'm only
a step or two ahead of you so I don't mean to sound like I know
a lot. Practice in a focused fashion now. Then worry about
calculating R/R. Of course R/R stinks right now - you haven't
learned how to scalp quite yet.
Just trying to help out, not sound smart.
