Aggressive traders use spine?

Ignored
Absolutely... to identify the direction when they stay in 5 sec or 10 sec... When they move towards 1 or 5 min -- flame will help them with direction and spine will help them capture daily total pips moved - if they want more money...

please post screenshot if you can... of gbpusd or any other 4 decimal currency pair. I no longer have ninja (aka memory hog) installed but I thought that's what the problem was (it would only show 2 decimal places) even for GBPUSD.

You are using EFX feed right? If you are using gain feed then I guess it should work fine with 4 decimals (although I haven't tried it)
Ignored
NO i am not, if you look vack at my previous post you will note that I was refering to the use of gain for the data feed, and the pairs are listed in the currency section not in stocks. EFX is designed from a workaround of MBT stock trading, thats why you cannot use the data correctly in ninja.

the reason I suggested gain for data feed was if your charts go down they backfill history, for those using EFX using the gain feed may or may not be of no use to you.

Absolutely true. When i tried oanda charts with mbt execution i didnt like that Oanda was lagging so i decided to try Ninja. Ninja has it's disadvantages: shitty v-line, it doesnt show half-pip moves and it only shows bid price (when bid is the same and ask fluctuates you dont see any moves). So i started watching both oanda and ninja charts. Then i realized i didnt need ninja. Oanda charts and fxboard are fine. Superdom would be even better but i havent found a good one yet.

ps if you still choose ninja use their hilo bars instead of line

Btw, welcome back Magnus. Hows your progress?
Ignored

Thanks eyecelll...

Yeah... Slowly but surely...

I had a total lack of discipline day last week... Revenge trading and doing things you know you shouldn't... but still did!

This made me take a step back... ask myself lots of questions... How I was approaching the Rainbow... Trying to figure out what led to such lack of discipline that day... General introspection really...

Cheers,

Magnus

What timeframe are most using to get general direction when using the 5 sec chart? Is it 30sec/1min/5min chart?

I use the 5sec and the 30sec chart and sometimes I glance over at the 5min chart too.

Trades for today. I got a little trigger happy and exited one short trade between 8:40 and 8:45 for a loss even though it was going to end up in the right direction anyway. I rentered later and got my money back.

I like to use the 1 min, though most here seem to prefer the 30 sec. I guess it depends on how often you're going to look at it, as it naturally won't change much in whatever the time period the chart is in.

Yep. In fact, I have smaller charts of the E/U and U/J on the side, so I can glance at them every once in a while. By the very logic of currency pairs, when these move in the same direction, the E/J is sure to make a large move in that direction... when they move in opposite directions, expect the E/J to become choppy.

BlueBuddha,

I like the idea of having a direction bias when scalping.
Can you tell us how much success you've had with your "logical" setup? (Having smaller EUR/USD and USD/JPY charts as guides)

Also, does anyone think that having multiple charts open at the same time will slow down the data feed to the particular pair that you are trying to trade? I'd love to hear if anyone has experienced this.
