{quote} Hi Focusonmoney: It is usually not a good idea to trade inside a triangle formation, there are a lot of almost random moves in that area, especially on the 5min time frame. The best way to trade triangles is to wait for a clean breakout and then ride the trend. To put all the odds in your favor, make sure that the direction of the breakout is also the direction of the main trend on a higher time frame. Now to answer your question, making 625% a year consistently is impossible. You could achieve that kind of return a year or two, but sooner...

I'm not trading inside the triangle, I'm trading around the edges. Believe or not I actually understand chop or random movement.. If you look at charts for close to a decade, you will start to see all types of patterns that you never heard of before ..

what about head and shoulder? what is the best way to trade them? is it entry at the left shoulder or at the break of the neckline?
Ignored
Hi Gajebo:

To trade head and shoulders formations, I suggest you:

1: Wait for the break of the neckline.

2: Wait for a pullback to the neckline.

3: Wait for a price rejection at the neckline level. THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT and most traders do not wait for that final price confirmation. You want the price to touch the neckline and move away from there, in the expected direction of course. This will eliminate a LOT of false signals.

It is my strong belief that a trader could make a nice living searching for and trading nothing but Head and Shoulders formations.

Happy trading.

Hi Focusonmoney:

I have been studying charts for more than 25 years now and you are correct, after a while you discover new winning chart patterns of your own.

In fact I am convinced that the most profitable chart patterns will never be published or mentioned in the trading literature, or even sold to the public, for obvious reasons...

Have a good weekend and good luck with your project.
