This might be strange; so I'll give some background.

I do like to watch the professional poker tournaments; (my favorite is Daniel Negreanu)

However, I remember one of the groups, don't remember their names, something like the Poker Posse or something like that; 5 guys who were all great friends, determined to become multi-millionaires via playing texas hold'em.

It would seem then, that 5 people working at the same goal and sharing about it, is more likely to "iron out" the things that need ironing out, to test and to give feedback etc..

So, it was my dream last night, that I had this sort of team.

I did the math; optimized, it __IS__ possible to make 10x profit per year in the forex. Heck, Larry Williams did it!

So that is the new goal I have:

To take $5,000 and build a system that can get it to $5,000,000 by the end of 3 years.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now, let me just say, if you think I am "crazy", then please let me be. Comments of "you are stupid if you think xxxxx" are absolutely not helpful, and not the point of this post. I'm sure if Bill Gates told everybody "I'd like to make $56 Billion in 25 years" his "good friends" would have called him crazy. So please, if you want to "discourage me", then do it somewhere else.
If however, you feel this is quite possible; then here are the criterias I've set below. Understand, these criterias are so the team in general is strong, and everybody can contribute; if this biased against newbies? Absolutely; but that's not what the team is for; the team is to aggressively analyze anything and everything under the sun; filter out the trash; optimize what is left; and aggressively test and trade a winning system.
Requirements:
  1. Ability to spend at least 2 hours a day reading up on forex and trading
  2. Ability to put in 2 hours a day in analysis
  3. Computer programming skills, at least enough to program indicators and perhaps trading system automation
  4. Some sort of background on forex is not necessary; but basic concept of what trading involves is required.
  5. Desire to retire off of purely working the Forex
  6. Innate belief that $5000-> $5M is possible in 3 years, and will become your primary goal in your financial life
  7. Generally don't mind reading into the wee hours of the night or programming in to the wee hours of the night.
  8. Have decent social skills, i.e. can work together in a group well.
  9. Excellent typing speed
  10. Excellent reading speed
  11. Excellent ability to organize and present your thoughts in an organized manner
The list could go on, but I'll just stop here. Basically, someone who believes as passionately as I do, and willing to work it as hard as I am.
The team will consist of 5 people only.
Strategies will be presented, and discussions will be carried out in email.
Anybody who is interested and feel they qualify, please PM me.
Thanks!
You're crazy like a fox!
Get a second lead guitar, chances are you'll go far,
If you get in with the right bunch of fellows.
It's the work that we avoid, and we're all self-emplyoyed,
I love to trade Forex all day.
And I've been taking care of business, it's all mine,
Taking care of business, and working overtime...
Go get 'em!
I also believe it is possible. With demo I am close to doubling account size and I have only been running this demo for 18 days so far (today is day 19). This is using almost exclusively 2 lot trades (sometimes I do use other sizes, but not more than 3 so far) -- I am keeping a journal in the respective section. If I am able to increase my account size and instantly liquidate positions of proportionally larger size on a live account (I need to test real life liquidity and see if my broker will really hold up their end) it would greatly increase my profitability.
Best of luck to you! I am interested to see how you do.
Good luck Twoblink. I'd like to say I could be one of the 5 but I don't think I qualify due to a full time job and lack of programming skills. I can however volunteer myself as an alternate in case of injuries like a torn rotator cuff, sprained knee, etc But seriously if anyone on here can do it I'm sure you can !
I was utterly floored by the response to this thread!!
I ended up picking 6 (and a possible 7th candidate)...
But thank you everbody who replied!! Those who are in, will get an invitation via PM from me. I almost feel like Donald Trump and "The Apprentice" minus the billion dollars in assets!!
The group will be named "The Rabbit Traders"..
from the group description::
Quote
Disliked
The Rabbit Traders are a private group of people, working together at one common goal:
10x your money in one year via trading the Forex markets.
This is a closed group. The "theory" this group is setting out to prove is that you can take $5,000 in seed money, and in 3 years, turn it into $5,000,000 and retire fat and happy.
The reason the group is called "Rabbit Traders" is because Rabbits are faster than turtles; and also, rabbits grow near exponentially via the Fibonacci sequence.
The name also reminds us that; regardless how fast we can move; if we don't percevere to the end; then the slow moving turtle will win; so we must never rest on our laurels; and always strive to be the best all the way to the finish line.
more than 3 years have passed since this thread was started. I'm curious, what was the outcome? Did the recruited group indeed make a system that turned $5000 into $5million?
An idea crazy enough, but someone(s) is/are going to be success while everyone else is thinking its a crazy idea.
I'd really like to do something crazy, with crazy people who have the similar character. I think a strong common belief will make the whole team successful oneday.
And I think I'm young enough to take all the risk. If you don't mind I'm still a university student. Hope you count me in.
I'm interested too, cause especially since I started reading twoblink's post history to find a modicum of an indicator of his success, and sadly found many of his posts paint him as over the top arrogant. IMO.
I would definitely like to hear from the entire group that he picked. But hey, maybe he's so arrogant because he met his goal. If so, I can't help but agree it would earn him more than a bit of bragging rights. (Although personally I'd disagree with the use of them, I prefer to leave bragging rights where they belong, on my account balance.)
Thank you Lux!
