200 and 400 SMA on 1hr chart is all you need, I think

I have always wanted to have a system that trades the 1hr time frame and keep it simple enough to trade from and monitor from Ipad or phone

I will be using the 2 MA's.The 200 and 4000 SMA and trading in the direction they show on multiple pairs.

I want to trad the retraces.I want it to be simple so I scan my pairs for 60 seconds at the turn of every hour and sometimes not even every hour.

Perfect for the guys who are working in an office etc.

There must be plenty of guys doing well using this type of approach

I will be demo trading it till at least 2016 to get a feel for it.

One account with regular updates.

Please feel free to share what you do and your inputs if you feel like it or have had previous success using a method like this

I will add to winner and losers and will try and hit those big home runs

The idea is simple and and I will be trading small enough in demo and in real life to not be too worried about it.

I have a bread and butter system I trade on the 1min everyday and I'm look to trade longer Time Frames as well

Just enter on the retrace of the trend that the Moving averages are showing

SL is like 200 - 500 pips but I should close manually before that

Like you I'm a 1 minute man through and through but I too am looking for the longer term trades for some nice passive income which I don't have to watch every minute of the day...

Heres my thoughts for what its worth...

I would use my TTindy to find the strongest trending pairs so lets say you want to monitor the 200sma as you say in your first post?? Well just set my TTindy up to monitor the 200sma's on the hrly chart, it will watch all 28 pairs for you and rank them as you know as strongest trender from top to bottom , top 8 only of course so no need to look any further.

Heres the TTindy set to monitor the 200sma as per your first post..



Then pull up the top 8 trenders charts and see whats happening and pick the ones you like the look of. Use whichever indy you want for entry , my preference is a CCI probably set to 14 maybe 8 as we're looking at strong trending pairs..I would only sell DTs or LH's in a down trend on similarly only buy DB's or HL's in an uptrend. I would tend to enter each trade and hold until the 200sma changed slope direction....

And heres a couple of examples from the top 8 pairs from the current HRLY TTindy monitoring the 200sma slope...





My CCI indicator also can alert you of a CCI signal rather than check it every hr which I'm sure could text or email you when signals occur so no need to even monitor the charts hrly... just wait for your text or email..

I've even got an EA under development that will actually take the entries for you too so no need to even look... Just have a quick look every night to check the TTindy rankings and eyeball their charts quickly...If you like what you see drop the EA on it...

EDIT: just read your top post again I would say that these stops range from about 35 to 100 pips max and those runs are over a 1000 pips each and not finished yet so some good RR's available...

I guess you are working on highlow + stoch + (higher timeframe) two ma.

I have been working on this thing since Dec. 2014.

As you may already know, the success of this "system" on AUDUSD H1 2014 (to March 2015) is based on contineous dropping of AUDUSD.
When Two MA go flat, or when distance between price and MA is too big, the Two MA as filter will fail.
Since the system uses big SL, and adds more positions when earlier orders have floating loss, when there is a long retracement, loss cannot be avoided.

So the solution seems to be determining Two MA situation manually. Then you enter only when you see "good" Two MA shape.

My suggestion is that, you may consider to add Wave into the system. In the end of Wave 3 or Wave 5, you can always expect a good retracement started with highlow and stoch, even if the direction is against Two MA. On the controrary, when you try to catch a trend in the end of Wave 2 or extended Wave, the result may be bad, even if it is with Two MA direction.

I tried a lot many different filters on this. But did not find a good solution.
