Trading News before Releases XXX Strategy

Hello guys!

This weekend I have been backtesting a strategy to trade the news, and it result in around 40 trades to be the best strategy that I have been backtesting, with around 70% winners, and of course its just a work in progress right now, because I could optimize it further (or I expect to do so).

Some characteristics of this thread:

- I will trade all the news marked with the red color in forexfactory that I can.
- I have open a DEMO account with 5000$ today.
- I will not reveal the detaisl of the strategy (sorry guys).
- All my entrys (market or entrys orders) will be posted before the new releases.

This is it for now, I will update this first post if I find it necessary.

Trade nº1 CAD Wholesale Sales m/m 20th October 2014

I have no idea if this new is volatile or not.

If nothing change until the new release ( I will notify if I change my vew) I will trade this news with a market order LONG 5 secs. before the news release with a SL of 10 pips Max. and a TP= 1.1293.

There is the possibility that I open another market order with a bigger TP of 1.1387. This market order will be around 3 times smaller that the previous one.

I have already enter the USD/CAD market with a market order LONG around 1.12598 will put the SL before the news and TP is 1.1293 as said.

Lets see!

I have attached an image with my positions 1 min prior the News. I have move the SL to 1.1248. I have will put the positions in BE when Price get to +10 if they get there.

EDIT: 1.2778 was a nice place to TP a little bit. Anyway 3 positions still open and moved the SL to 1.12605. Probably dont touch anything. TP or SL. We will see. Next trade will be tonight with

Both news in AUD/USD, but I dont know if I will be wake up for them!

Trade nº2 AUD Policy Meeting Minutes

We start with a win in USDCAD, now we have another Buy Signal not as clear as the USDCAD, but it can move further if it moves i our favour. I go long now (1min before).

Current situation I have put the SL on AUDJPY in -10 pips. Also I dont like we have another news affecting AUDUSD in one hour and a half. All the chinnese stuff, so maybe I close something before.

I ended closing it in BE. lets wait for the next one!

Not trading this one. Mixed signals.

3rd. Trade GBP Public Sector Net Borrowing


I think maybe look for a short in the GBP news GBP Public Sector Net Borrowing in 20 min... Lets wait for now

Not a extremly clear signal, and medium impact news, Im going to use a SL of 15 pips..... (remember I have to still make a longer backtest).

TP around 80 pips in they want to shakeout the market because there is really any good place to catch stop loss and will change if necesarry manual after news, maybe a 1.6126 if it doesnt rally that much.

Moved the SL just near my entry, dont want to play games with this one, see attached


Result= -2.4 and -1.2 pips
Overal= 1 win, 1 very small win, 1 very small loss

Im looking to trade: AUD RBA Deputy Gov Lowe Speaks in 25 min! This is fun! I suppose I should not be trading this medium impact news ;P

4rd. Trade AUD RBA Deputy Gov Lowe Speaks

Well I dont know if it going to move but I have a clear Long signal. So I will but this stuff, I surely can buy 1 lot now and 1 lot 1 min before the Speaker start we will see.

I will open 3 positions, I want one position at least to be long term (200+ pips) because AUD seems like has been accumulated.

TP and SL in place, see attached...

Just made a long USDCHF 5 pips SL 21 TP

Unfortunatly the other DEMO account freezed and I didnt had the password, so I could not be able to recover it, but the result of the old one are like these.

1st Trade Went pretty directly TP with 4/5 of position closed the other 1/5 BE
2nd and 3rd where BE (I summed a little profit but nothing important )
4rd Trade. Still Open in Profit. aud/usd LONG.

Lets continue with the new account from now on.

No clear signal, I have just put orders above current high and in the high below, expect dullness. Just trading because boringness, lets wait for AUD news.

Ok I dont trade this one neither. I will just take a small short, in case all that stops from H1 get hit, but actually I would preffer to be long
