I lost a marriage over my obsession with Forex. i had just started trading and was sure I would be a millionaire within a few years. That initial rush where every trade is life or death, overleveraged and shooting for the stars. My focus was always on trading, even on the weekends. I remember putting my laptop by the shower so I could see how my trade was moving while I shampooed my hair. I ignored my family and would be distracted all the time. I pushed her away and at the time didn't care.
In retrospect it was NOT worth it. I loved her then and still do but that is over now. For sure there were other factors involved in our breakup but I have to think that Forex has been destructive to more lives than it has helped.
If there are any newbies reading this please: keep your perspective, your family, your job, your hobbies, all are more important than playing a game that you will likely never win. I'm sorry, that sounds harsh but it is true. Even if you are a lucky one who makes millions, the things that will make you happy are the people around you.
