Hi All,

I Assume that since Web Based platforms (like Oanda) run only on Oanda's servers - they would be more reliable under stress times - however since Oanda does not have a trailing stop - that advatage is null.

However, recently some new brokers have started to issue a trailing stop on web based platforms - as opposed to software which lies on your cpu and sends commands in real time (not very good under news times ) - so most of you who know what i am talking about - have u tested Software vs Web platform and stress times ? and if so - what brokers yielded the best resuls = no slippage = Trailing stops that actually work.

Tnx

I like client side (on your computer) programs simply because I can hack the API and have it do a bunch of stuff for me automaticaly. I also think you get a bit of a performance boost especally when you have a bunch of charts open on multiple monitors.

In regards to stress time, I think the focus should more on the broker rather than their trading platform. Whether the platform is client-based or web-based, the server feed is pretty much the same.

Ignored
The trailing stop command is sent to broker's server at time of placement & not during stop execution when price reaches that level. Therefore you're computer can be turned off and you do not need to be logged into your platform in order for your placed trailing stop to be executed. It's all done on your brokers end and nothing is sent from PC in "real time."
