Compression is crazy stuff, basically the chart is full of them. I marked a few, the blue one is the major one, right?

How do you define them, have you got a systematic way to look for them?

Page 114 explains compression better than I ever could, but basically price continues to touch supply/demand

Also a question about origin. To me origin is just at the beginning of the move, where the move started from. There's more details but thats the main thing. Using another nice structure from spx, see if we waited patiently at the origin of that last move (rather than trading at the middle), we're rewarded with a very obvious qm. Then it creates an FTR, and we can see where a good entry point is for the edge of the ftr. Of course price doesnt always go to the origin. sometimes it zoom zooms and you miss out on the trade. BUt your life will be alot...

do you touch trade the origin of the move or you wait for some confirming pa on approach(BSZ ,CP,CPLQ) and /or reaction pa (lower time frame engulf+retrace to the origin).?

my second question is that how do you deal with news events do you leave your pending orders or you avoid trading around major news events?

i would put a pending order at an origin if everything looks right. this means a lot of things. clear engulf of clear fl, clear target, good structure at origin with obvious place for entry, etc... if i was more patient, this is all i would trade, but things like this dont set up every day in higher tf (esp in non US hours). you can try to find this in lower timeframes, but its hard to execute for me. if im not so sure, i'd wait for some kind of confirmation. approach or ltf reversal. lately my reading has been very good and i would be better off being more aggressive with POs. but aggressiveness can easily cause overconfidence, which in turn leads back to bad reading.

I might try to get in on a move before the news if it looks like price is setting up for it. i dont like to actually buy on news. If you catch it, you usually get a bad fill. If you get it wrong, it could be very costly, especially with small zones. i think the biggest lost ive had on news is 8r, because my zone was so small and the whipsaw was so large. not worth it for me. better to be patient and let the move play out. if you miss it, thats ok. dont let that get you frustrated.
