Dislikedmain currencies which can be traded:
usd, eur, nzd, aud, jpy, gbp, cad, chf
In the markets you don't just trade the "usd" or just the "eur". Every currency is pegged to another one. for example, every other currency can be pegged to the usd: eur/usd, nzd/usd, aud/usd, usd/jpy, gbp/usd, usd/cad, usd/chf.
So, in the currency markets you only can trade "pairs" of currencies. You can never only trade one currency. That is why people are talking about pairs here.
