Hey guys, just thought i would start a new thread for people currently trading the Ichimoku Kinko Hyo system. Lately i haven't seen anyone in any of the forums still keeping up with this wonderful system. So i am determined to bring some of the Ichi traders out of the woodwork This thread is solely started for people with trading ideas, setups, or just straight talking about how awesome this system is ... etc.. so if you have some setup's you see or would like to offer some new ideas or indicators to the mix, then i am all for it.

I've been in and out of the eur/jpy for several weeks, just riding this huge trend wave.. locked in some pips and started back up several times.. sometimes i do not have time to watch all my trades, so if i see a reversal i will lock in profit and come back later..


here's what i'm looking at for the eur/jpy for the moment.. fibonacci is suggesting a run up to the 126 level.

I think it looks like you use the two ma's as signals backed up by the ichimoku llines, would that be right.?

I'm using the standard settings for ichi, with a couple added additions, here are a couple things i've added and how i get my signals:


#1. Metatrader for my signals, and indicators

#2. henkan ashi

#3. 5 period and 10 period exponential moving averages for re-entry and exit(the arrows in my chart are based on this, with email alerts)

#4. RSI

#5. demark trendlines

I use tradestation for executing orders, and metatrader for sending me signals

i was in earlier at 124.65 and got stopped out by my dynamic stop loss.. re-entered again at 124.81 wich is the position i'm holding now
These charts you are posting look super......

I will change mine a little and start posting some from time to time...

here's an RSI heatmap if you guys need to find some good pairs to trade
i've got a new indicator coming in soon.. it will have an email alert that will email you when the chikou crosses the kumo. also i already have some very awesome one's that will notify me of price crossing kumo and chikou crossing price.. if you guys need anything at all, hit me up

Here's a little tip for you guys.


found a trend that has been moving for the past few days or weeks and you seriously want to get in ? just put your time frame down 1 by 1.. let's say you are looking at the daily chart to get your bias.. now, move down to 4h, to see if ichi is showing price inside the cloud, or chikou inside price action.. still look the same ? ok now move to the 1h, any entry yet ? nothing ? move down to the 30min.. bingo ! we found price inside the cloud, and chikou span inside price.. now let's sit on this for a while and wait for a break and close in the direction of our daily trend.


ps. if you aren't sure about instantly jumping into the trade on a close of your candlestick, set an entry 5 pips above or below your closing candle and let the market come to you !

Ichimoku Kinko Hyo means " equilibrium at a glance " correct ? .. so let's use it that way.. just 1 look at your chart and you already know what you want to do.. i hate complicating things, it just changes your entire strategy and will take away all of the discipline.


trade what you see, not what you feel and if it works, then don't try to fix it !
Don't get caught up in this just yet.. we are coming back to equilibrium so wait for a close above the tenkan for re-entry if you missed out on the overall move

thought i would load up my demo and see what else is happening.. my system caught the euro/jpy move, and i just opened an aud/usd trade for fun.. any thoughts ?

Would you have time some time to document this approach along with the charts to show what you mean as you do the progression to find your entry. Thanks for the clarification
