What news releases are preceded by choppy sessions?

Hello,

I am a purely technical trader and I only trade the GBP and CHF against the dollar.

I know millions people trade based on news though and I would like to know what news releases are preceded by very choppy markets the majority of time before their release?

I would like to know so I can stay out of the market before these releases because the trends are few and far between.

By FOMC minutes do you mean the Interest Rate Statement announcement exclusively or are there other Fed releases I should be aware of?

There is no standard rule. In essence, there is a possibility for a big move whenever a Fed talks. Generally, however, the moves happen when Bernanke talks versus the other Feds...

The biggest ranging week is NFP week, however.
