thanks loveevery for this system, thanks to you I started to understand how to use the TDI indicator properly and make some profit with it. Looking forward for more charts and trade examples from you)

Just a note for beginners with TDI indicator. This indicator has a "bug", so in realtime on charts its looks differently and makes different singnals, than when viewed on refreshed chart with visual backtesting (changing the TF and back is enough), so you can get different results from visual backtesting than with real life trading.
So use instead fixed TDI RT indicator, which looks exactly how TDI should looks like, and how appears on refreshed chart.

Cheers.

If you stick to the original rules to always enter trade at the candle open, both TDI indicators will give identical signals (cross or no cross).

You're right but the indi posted by colombino will be handy for backtesting, although I didnt know such a non repainting TDI would exist. I'll test it out. Meanwhile, thanks colombino

Hi. Having just watched them both side by side on strategy tester I notice that the original TDI crosses and if on the next bar it crosses back you are left with a zig zag across the green line to observe after. The TDI RT, however, UNCROSSES the lines so after it looks as if it has not crossed. I only saw it a few times, but I shall keep the original copy.

Cheers all.

Hi I have never compared the two TDI's side by side in the Strategy Tester but I suppose the two TDIs should be identical at the candle open, with the repainting version keeps repainting on every ticks later.

However, if you stick to the rule to open trade at the candle open you also want to stick to this rule while backtesting so it does not really matter then which TDI you use.

I understand you use the original TDI and it is a personal preference which TDI to use but if someone uses a repainting TDI what will he/she do seeing the TDI changes direction in the middle of the candle? Will he/she close the trade prematurely, or sits tight and stick to the original exit rule?

I've managed to see the difference already by using a shorter TF. I suppose there are pros and cons on both. Some live testing would be necessary.

Guys its not about candle close. Let the original TDI run on a chart for 10-20 bars. Then make a screenshot, then change the timeframe on chart and change it back. Then compare the TDI on chart with you screenshot. You will see two different green lines (shifted top or bottoms or with different shape, the difference is usually about 1bar).
So, when you in the evening start MT to visual backtest your potential trades, you see different TDI than that which you see, when you have the MT running and dont touch the chart.

@ loveevery1
would the entry on the open of that bar be valid? The TDI signalled a few candles earlier but the 1st candle to close below the 200 ema was the one marked by a vertical line.
