I'm thinking.. Shouldn't the market drop before the elections? If pro bail out wins, we go up, if commies win the CBs will intervene.. Free money for everyone.. Isn't this how the Ponzi should work? LOL.

Well hard to tell.

If they are betting on Grexit I would say better pump and dump now or never.

If they are betting on real solution I would say pump and pump (ride the pig in all fronts before and after) and squeeze every short out of it ..cause it wont be a pullback.

if they are betting on the status quo and kicking the can (the most probable scenario) is dump and ride free money until it exhaust and we have new debt trigger (Italy?)...

in any case.. this is not happening on Sunday..

any of the scenarios is a long ride .. from few weeks till few months.. starting from elections, forming a Government, publishing the new Greek Gov. Agenda.. negotiating.. and eventually GREXIT..

what they are trying to say is.. that they are sitting on some levels.. and peg the market.. they are not going to let anther Phat Finger with 1000p move..

Amazing that such a tiny economy and problem that size-wise should have been solved 2 years ago is putting the financial world upside down ...and not only that but is costing a couple of tr dollar extra instead of the couple of billions that would have cost doing it on time...

It is amazing but also negligent ....bordering on criminal neglect that this matter has now been escalated to this level.

Not only has this been dragging on for far too long but as you correctly pointed out, it could have/should have been taken care of a long time ago. It is not like a nasty surprise was sprung overnight in spite of accusations that the true extent of the problem was hidden (hidden Greek debt)

If you want to stuff up things really well , just hand it to politicians. We have an " Asset Forfeiture Unit" where I live. The courts can confiscate assets gained via criminal activities.

Politicians should be subject to the same laws.

Let the bastards pay for their mismanagement and mistakes and forfeit any assets gained in the process, it will make them think twice about taking their responsibilities seriously.

The Greek economy is actually surprisingly small compared to their neighbours.

In spite of that, it is holding a gun to the collective heads of world economies right now.

It flies far above my comprehension.....

Better have another cocktail and start planning a long weekend.

Well yes but markets knee jerk reaction take nano seconds. They only have to unplug the algos in some markets and raise the bid ...thats all it takes...and when confidence has been wipe out from the ones in charge and panic is in control...

The problem is that nobody knows exactly what can happen. Syriza can make a clean swept and that's it for Monday. There are many other scenarios but CBs preemptive moves is because they are scare and thats what it counts to us. The real thing is for later when it settles down.

In any case, Canada now on the wires on the same line and ES floor and globex close on a break so all open for tomorrow & weekend also something to pay attention too is what PT mentioned in the other thread
