Works on most if not all markets (with the right settings)....I myself have a "standard" that I keep to...namely the market must have a minimum win ratio of 75%....certainly no less than that on the first trade. As previously stated in my posts, I'm now solely concentrating on one market (GU). It makes my life far easier only having to factor one market into compounding my bank, rather than having potentially 2 trades on the go which affects stakes etc.

Good luck to all, the market will come to us eventually. Have patience peeps!

After 4 solid days of reading every post in the thread and printing off the first 150 posts plus the Authorised SSBO Dynamic Breakout Box User Guide, my eyes are mush and my kids are wondering who is the strange man living in the study.

Kudos for your efforts.

I have one question that I have not seen answered. Or maybe I missed it sometime in the dark hours of the last 4 days reading the 270 pages and over 4000 posts.

Can you explain what is the purpose of the extended artifact? Or post a link to where it's purpose was explained.

It will move to the next stairstep...

1.59150 is a big resistance. This was the "floor" of last week.

It can go up again to 1.6000 (previous week) or down to 1.58300.

This morning is really like yesterday morning on GBPUSD/M15 !, as if there was only "small" traders yesterday and, let's forget about it, today this is more serious with big players...

For that problem, seggregation of funds is maybe the easiest way to handle that : multiple accounts with a specific strategy on each one.

Maybe "spreading" the risk with multiple strategies is good too.

For example :
- 1% risk with small boxes for low volatility
- 1% risk with big boxes for high volatility
- 1% risk ...

With tradesets of 1, 2, 3, etc...

Didn't tried that but this is possible. This is valuable if one strategy is very good when the other is not so good and vice versa. The average value would be good in any market volatility conditions.

In fact since US elections, no more players !

Actually swinging between S1 and R1 values (pivot points)...

Maybe the box could be automatically adjusted to pivot points instead of ATR ?

Patience...

Morning folks.

So I've been in 'catch up' mode reading through the thread since my last regular involvement and I'm very glad I did. Firstly, I've expressed my gratitude previously for the original indi but wow, what a change so more thanks to everyone involved in the coding and project leading etc... what you've done with it is amazing. Secondly I thought I would post a pic I've got settings now on two pair and this is for GBPUSD.

In all honesty I'm not used to such loose settings (30 pips x 30 bars) but the stats look terrific. In particualr no trades going to 4 trades (i've managed the same on GBPJPY) and overall near to 70& on individual trades. For me these kind of things are more important than the pip figure at the bottom (fits in with MM better) but you will notice that I haven't done bad on that one either.

Great work guys, keep it up

Not at all: you're right if we want this thread to stay focussed on SSBO.

Hi guys,

Over a couple of hours into my trade on the GU with a 25 x 44 CZ (nice). I was just interested to get some feedback, purely out of interest, why when a positive news release for the USD comes out like at 1:30 (housing starts)...the market shot up?

Don't get me wrong, it doesn't affect me or us because we trade what we see i.e. the CZ ... not what we think we know/might happen i.e. news/indicators etc etc.

It just doesn't make sense to me. If anything, it only enhances and reinforces the belief that a simple strategy like the one we use is far less unpredictable and stressful than trying to second guess what the hell the market is doing.

Very appreciative of the generosity of FXH, and team shown in this thread, and not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I'd like to request, if possible, to have an alert(with sound!!) to be sent a candle or 2 just before a new CZ is completed...So, for ex., at candle 33(or whatever!!) in a CZ of 35 candles. Pippo

Yep pretty much essential in my opinion and would help those with the mindset of overtrading to just walk away and return when necessary. The alternative to the above, working only if you have more than one close outside the CZ is to set to one close before your intended one to allow 15 mins (whatever time frame your on) to sit in front of the screen and watch.

Not ideal but with the advent of the EA we hope the above wouldn't necessarily be an issue anymore.

I'm currently non MT4 and full time trading so I keep a watching brief most of the time but a CZ alarm would be extremely useful!
