Hi,
I have 2 EA's running and until recently everything was ok. Now I am finding that they they stop running. The link between the 2 is using Globals to pass values but this has never been an issue. Anyone have any ideas. As I have been developing these I do recompile quite a bit but it also happens when I just leave them running overnight.
Thanks
Steve

I don't understand the term "stop running". If I were to take this literally, it would mean the EA disappears from the chart, but I think you meant something else.

You need to check the experts and journals tab for errors. Based on the error, we might be able to help. Otherwise it is likely an internal coding error.

Edit: One other thing that might help is to shut down MT4 every day; I have suspected memory leaks from time to time and observed unusual behaviour.

EA Stopping, I mean that although MT4 is still running and the EA attached, no errors being shown anywhere, the EA doesn't function. It starts normally and then its as if its being disconnected. If I close MT4 down and restart its generally ok. I can see exactly when it stops as I have a line being extended every minute on th echart. Funny thing is, since I wrote this it hasn't happened.

I have seen situations with EAs/indicators where they seem to stop working as expected. Usually it is related to an alert or drawing an object on the chart. I have attributed it to buggy MT4 platform software and possibly an over loaded computer. In one instance I was able to overcome the problem by reducing the frequency of these events; but usually that isn't possible. My theory is that handling alerts and chart updates is the lowest priority in the MT4 platform and is sometimes "forgotten" if the next tick arrives.

Usually the EA recovers and resumes normal operation. But if not, restarting MT4 always works. I doubt if its a bug in your code but that is a possibility. Of course if it can't be recreated, it will be very difficult to fix.
