How do I stream MT4 tick data into a spreadsheet using .CSV (no DDE)?

I'd like to create a "live" spreadsheet for "real-time" visual analysis. So I need to be able to retrieve live tick data from MT4 and import to constantly updating spreadsheet. I understand that there might be a slight lag during the conversion/import process.

DDE is not an option. (1) Due to security risks (2) OpenOffice (Open Source) can't use it. (Excel is available if absolutely a must).

(Hints I've found: "collect data through CSV and not DDE"... and ... "Excel reads external data with auto-counter"... if that helps)

How competent are you with coding ? Reason I ask is that without DDE, coding will be required...

If you could do with candle completion and not tick data, then there are code examples posted on this forum that will export bars (history and updates) to a file.

This is not advertising (as it's free) but if you take a look at the link in my signature, you can download my analysis application and that has an EA which will download history of bars and update the file on completion of each new bar. Don't need to use the app if you don't want to, feel free to use the data exporter EA...
Sorry, forgot to mention that Excel has a 'timed' file import update function such that the new data would be reflected in the spreadsheet (don't know if OpenOffice has a similar function though...).

I'm no master coder but I can find my way around mql4 as well as Excel fairly well. Basic understanding though. This would be a great opportunity to take a step towards a higher level. Not afraid to dig

OpenOffice does too. I have Excel as well but if (when) I complete this project, I no longer have use for Windows. I trade for a living so I have plenty of time to do this while watching charts.

I know how to create the spreadsheet (formulas, etc...). Now I need to know how to feed the data to it in real time without using DDE.

Here is exactly what I'd like to accomplish.

dear sir i need to get OHLC from MT4 upon candle completion and not tick data, i want to download history of bars and update the file on completion of each new bar. but am almost ignorant in programming (my major is business), am fine in excel. can have a solution that does not require coding skills, if it is like pasting a code in meta editor or so.. is something i can do but not much more pls.you cooperation is highly appreciated, i can pay anyone who has the file.
