{quote} Hi Rehab, I guess I'm missing the question. Both articles seem to explain it the same & correctly. Positive Divergence (Bullish)= Price makes new low but indicator makes higher low. Negative Divergence (Bearish)= Price makes new high but indicator makes lower high. There's also "hidden divergence" which is a bit different so maybe that's what you're questioning? ***Negative Divergence=Bearish Divergence (different terms for the same thing)

Thanks for answering the question and shedding light on the issue

Hi Olu, first let me thank you for putting hidden divergence in an un- hidden way . Also thanks for Srt and Turboane for their contribution.
I am keeping following your blog in a hidden way. I am now 100% focused on XAU/$. I developed the idea that to be specialized is best with small account. However, I am still struggling with MM. My analysis goes well but it doesnt matter how much I win I loose more. So I decided to save my money and invest them in a therapist instead- so far 1 year has passed and the therapist cant find a way to control my impulsive decisions to open stupid trades

Here is where I am with Gold- bearish on the daily chart. But you see on the monthly chart a huge divergence. IT is here where I am trying to identify what sort of divergence it is. Cheers!

Hi SunTrader
Sorry for the late reply. Yes I do trade based on the weekly chart alone sometimes. However at the moment I am not getting a lot of signals. I need smaller candles so that stops will not be excessive. Never done the monthly one yet. I think you need the patience of St. Gabriel to hold a trade that long - even when in profit

Dollar Index - Didn't expect the downmove to be this much hence didn't make a lot from it. We are at a decision point right now

I was asking due to comment about positive divergence on monthly - which would only matter if someone was entering trades on a weekly basis. But if I understand correctly you look at weekly for trend, patterns etc but enter on lower time frame (daily, hourly)?

I enter on the 4h and daily mainly as I cant monitor trades during the day most times. I can get a look in during my lunch break sometimes though.

Guys

Sorry to have disappeared on you guys. I am in Nigeria for the one year remembrance of my father's passing. I have been here since the 21st. I have only just managed to get some internet access. Roaming charges for my Ipad and phones (UK based) are astronomical.

Full posting will resume shortly

Srt, I read and don't understand that why I post here for comments. What do you interpret from the chart?

There's different ways to use the MACD.

1-Take entries based upon the cross of the lines(moving averages).>>>#1
2-Take entries based upon cross of the "0" line.>>>#2
3-Take buys with cross of the lines only if above the "0" line.
4-Take sells with cross of the lines only if below the "0" line.
5-Use divergence for entry signal.
