From what I've heard and gathered, the following are essentially regulation-for-hire localities/agencies. File some paperwork, pay a $20-25k fee, and you're now 'officially regulated'.

Mauritius - FSC
Cypress - CySEC

I emailed them right when this happened and they said they were having server issues that they are working on. This is the 1st time in 3 months that I have been with them that I have had an issue. So who know for now.

If I don't have the capital to trade with a good second tier prime broker offering currenex or a similar technology, I would go with reputable retail ECN brokers such as Interactive Brokers, MBTrading, Dukascopy, etc. If I don't have the cash for those either, the only MM I would trade with is Oanda.

Just so you know, Dukascopy, though it has a demo-version of MT4 available (and I have used it a number of times), they are not (in their own words) going to offer MT4 live accounts. This is, for me, unfortunate as I believe them to be a great broker.

I just don't understand why you guys depend so much on MT4. I hate MT4, and I tend to see it as a positive thing when a bröker doesn't have MT4 and have their own proprietary platform instead (but that's just me).

Seriously what is it? Is it the EA's? If you're an automated trader, all you need is an API connection and you can pretty much do anything. That's what professionals and institutions use for automated trading. If you're a chartist, there are platforms much better for charting than MT4 (which doesn't even offer all chart types).
My execution with Smarttradefx has been super slow last 2 weeks. Has anybody else with a live account had same problem?

Can you look in your mt4 journal next time you take a trade and see how long it takes to execute then send me a PM? Would appreciate it.
I've had a live account ,just the mini since Feb of this year. Don't know how to look up the journal. Ive made 6 trades in the last 5 hours and all have been fine. Have a good night, and good luck.
found the journal ,but don't see a time stamp stating how long it took to execute the trade. I use the One Clicker for scalping.

Yes I use the One Clicker myself, very nice tool.

To see the timestamps simply click on your MT4 journal tab then at the top you will see "Time" and "Message".

Under the "message" column you will see your acct. number listed first followed by script which looks something like this:

'#####': order sell market 0.1 EUR/USD sl: 0.00000 tp: 0.00000 = the message

then under "time" column you will see the timestamps which correspond to the order execution in the "message" column.

2011.07.20 02:10:18 = the timestamp

This is what a whole orders execution would look from start to finish leaving out my acct. # and order #'s.

2011.07.20 02:10:18 '#####' order sell market 0.1 eur/usd sl.0.0000 tp.0.0000

2011.07.20 02:10:18 '#####' request was accepted by server

2011.07.20 02:10:18 '#####' request in process

2011.07.20 02:10:22 '#####' order was opened: ######## buy 0.1 eur/usd at 1.41399 sl: 0.00000 tp: 0.00000 at price 0.0000

so that order above took from 02:10:18 till 02:10:22 to execute or 4 seconds. so was wondering how long your orders are taking?
Not the best of news: original link here, graphic captured below, forever. Chances are it was spawned by complaints. And, if you check the list of other warnings to other brokers, they are hardly in good company.

Well don't you guys say you haven't been warned if these guys run away with your money.
I been with them for over a 1yr now with a live acct. and I haven't had no problem yet, all I can say there good,honest,fast for orders and grate customer service,
^ Please don't take this as a slam, but that sounds like an info commercial

Noticed anything with you execution lately? Mine has become super slow for weeks.
I have a live fx trading acount with smarttradefx running on mt4 platform
true ecn & honest broker.
im very happy there, i feel safe & relaxed while trading, very fast & stable system with good customer service.
read the reviews they got on forex peace army = 5 strars rating .... & and i do think they deserve every single one of it.
Well, if anyone cares.. I tried opening a $100 mini account with them. Will keep you posted. There aren't many off shore brokers that accept US clients anymore.
