Via PrimeXM-LiveUK.
Note: This happens at very specific price-points. Turning points, so to speak (i.e. today's happened just shy of R2 of daily PP). They prevented me two times now form taking a trade. Smart.

I mean qhat type of account do you have the classic or the exchange, Because the Classic account its the market maker version, saying that, they have reasons to temper with the connection, but the Exchange account there is no need to do anything like that, if they are doing that in an exchange account something is fishy....

The account types:

Which one do you have?

I think if you are serious about trading then paying 15 euros monthly for a VPS is not much.

At about 10:11-10:13 GMT Armada had again a disconnect (news time - italian bond auction results).
Been with them for about 2 months now and this has happened already several times. Seems they play their games. How I hate this sh*t.

One would not necessarily noticed it, unless one tried interacting with the trade server, i.e. to "ping" it or to trade at that specific price,
which not many would have done, I guess:

i don't know, but i'm always see the connection icon on the right bottom, and it always fine. In which, if the error was like in the image you've attached, MT4 should show 'No Connection' warning on the right bottom.

Directly with LMAX. ICMarkets and FXPro cTrader are the other alternatives now. Armada spreads are crap.

Armada execution report:
looks like now they know i'm trading news. the news slippages become the usual broker slippage, 24 pips!

I'm still curious with LMAX news trading. Shouldn't have closed the account back then :/

or maybe i should try fxmtf?

I have also noticed that Armada have recently (a month or so maybe) started to apply additional spread on many pairs - EUR/USD is identical to LMAX (more or less), GBP/USD, AUD/USD is very similar but the spread has a higher floor on Armada (versus 0 on LMAX) and other pairs now have an additional spread of 0.4-1.4+ pips (varies per pair) on Armada

This was NOT the case when Armada first added the additional liquidity on top of LMAX, if i recollect. Armada is still slightly better when LMAX is real thin around the rollover though - and last time i tried the EUR/USD liquidity was richer for impulse scalping on Armada

Comparisons are live LMAX versus live Armada - i have both

I'm not sure. I'm not affirming, I am asking.

And just because they are in Estonia doesn't mean anything, the country where the company is rooted isn't a factor. You can have ECN's or market market in England, Spain, France, etc...

Well, i'm still thinking that armada is not a broker, they're just an introducing broker. Nevertheless, both account is part of market maker of course. They're partnering with citi anyway (largest market maker).

The important thing is how they perform the execution. Ianj1 said Armada is more liquid, though the spreads is worse.

What i'm still curious is the liquidity at news time with LMAX. While i'm confident that it's the same or even worse than Armada, i still want to hear from LMAX live traders.

You cant judge liquidity from MT4. You know, it lacks a marketdepth display.

As for lmax during news, they have live-prices on their website - you can check that yoursefl.

Hi shrike,

Sorry if my "liquidity" is mistaken with marketdepth. What i mean is more to execution quality in relation of the marketdepth itself, that is, how much slippages you get when you're trading.

Yes of course i could see the depth of market price in the news, but i won't know my real filled stop order price until it's executed (also depend on the lot quantity though)

How bout yours? what kind of slippages do you often get?

I agree - Even with a level2 GUI you can't really tell visually - as the quote are mirages - they can disappear as quickly as they appear - even as an ECN. You really need to see live execution differences.

I only mention Armada have deeper liquidity because the slippage is greater on LMAX when using impulse like EA's (No.1, SS, MDP etc - i have my own)

I never tried to compare execution in news on either - so cant comment - but i can say the VISIBLE spreads are very keen on LMAX - even very close to news events - again live EXECUTION is what matters

At peak liquidity time, and NOT in an impulse move or news - i would say LMAX slippage is minimal - comparable with the best of the brokers i use (inc Pepper Razor, Armada a couple of market makers, FinFx etc)
