Hello all,

I have been trading for several years now. But whilst I really enjoy all of it .. these markets still get me frustrated. I have decided to put a punching ball into my trading room so that I can hit it when there is a nice trading setup that is (once again) destroyed by the markets not doing what they are supposed to do (for me) :-)

Yes - there are people out there that say one should keep his emotions out of trading. But this would be the same as telling a beautiful woman "Well babe - I do really love you, but I need to keep my emotions out of our relationship. You ok with that? Cheers." No way!

Right .. this is a virtual shout of anger at all those market participants that are responsible for ...

- destroying decent runs in any directions by putting in massive reversals
- piercing S/R levels a thousand times without either bouncing decisevely of them or running through them
- not letting the market do what it should do according to any decent text book (or better: accoring to my wish)

Each of you guys responsible for that deserve a decent punch . Next time you do things like that let me know in advance

Right .. I am going to hit that punching ball now again. And yes - I DO love that beautiful woman which is called Mrs Market - WITH emotions.

Cheers,
Steve (frustrated)

Just realised that there are many similar threads already out there. I wonder why

Well ... sorry everyone. You are still welcome to share my anger.

First of all steve its a thread not a threat

The market answers to no man but man himself - think about this.. then think of your self and your trading from the markets perspective and see if any light bulbs flick on...

It's not a case of who and what, but how and why. Your emotions need not make an appearance in any of this and if they do, ignore them. Hunch and gut feels are all well and good ONCE you're working in-time and in-tune with you trading, but these aren't at the fore, they are progressive. This can take years for some, and many people never understand it.

Focus on the heartbeat of the market and the way the exchange works; the physical make-up of the transaction(s).

Hi,

for me it's better to be under pressure and emotions then i'm more focused what i'm doing, almost every trader here is telling about demo trading thatif youre not successfull there you will not be in live trading, it's not true, i agree that trader should demo trade for few years to get market feel but that's all he don't need to be profitable on demo at all, I've never been profitable on demo because i didn't feel that I have real money there and was risking nothing there so I wasn't so aware of bad trades and so on, for better emotion controlling try to fund smaller account and trade without SL - only emergency and make some rules when to close the trade, the best is scalping for that, and after few months and hundreds of such trades your brain will be like a rock and your emotions just won't be there

Happy trading

Keeping your emotions out of trading is nearly impossible, the best thing you can do is control your emotions. Having something to get the frustration out is a good thing, you punch a puching ball I do puch ups.

Although the market doesn't always seem logic it always has a reason why it's not obeying your setup.

Just my opinion.

I'm not familiar with getting frustrated or angry at the market.
Usually, for me (and here), it's the euphoria/greed - despondency cycle with fear in the middle.
Sometimes, though, I just stay loose and accept what the market has to offer after I recognize something of the next turn in it. Perhaps the opposite of staying loose is what you're referring to.
Now, brokers, yeah..Platforms...
