Hello traders!
This thread is for those days that none of your trades work, or when the market stops you out by one pip and then goes 200 pips your way.
Forex trading can be extremely frustrating at times, and it is in the best interest of the trader that he/she remain calm and collected throughout. However, since there is real money involved, this can be difficult.
The aim of this thread is to provide a virtual 'padded room' where traders can shout, vent, and relieve themselves of their frustrations in post(s), after which they can get back to trading and making money.
Please note that I happen to LOVE forex, and I like all traders have up days and down days. This thread is NOT for Forex-bashers that will vent and give up. This thread IS for those people who need to let out a little bit of steam before getting back to the good ol' charts.
Enjoy!

Please note: you can be as angry as you like in your language, but keep it clean

Excuse my loophole in usage of 'days'. I should have used 'times'.

Don't talk about it... It's so depressing...
At least when it happens. As of today, the market was +/- ranging and I didn't have any missed opportunity as per my trading system.

I'm 19 years old... about to turn 20. I've been doing forex nonstop for almost two years now.

I love it.

It's an awesome thing.

But it's also ruthless.

Unpredictable(ish).

All I can say is that I've lost 2-3 thousand dollars for every year I have lived in my entire life in the market.

But I'm still here.

I love it.

I love charts, hahaha... My son's gonna be named Andrew Pitchfork Torres and my dog Fibo... The colors green and black produce a semi-orgasmic effect on me...

But it's eaten my life away... I have lost contact with 90% of the people I used to hang out with... with my family... almost made me break up with my girlfriend...

To do or not to do... forex.

Thats almost exactly my story. Turning 20 in september.

Ive blown more than a handful of ~$500 accounts since i started trading live two years ago.

Have been trading profitably for almost a year now and I think I'm glad I didn't give up. And Forex doesn't owe me money

Happy Trading.

Oh my. Out of the frying pan into the fire!

Edit: I'm thinking that maybe I've misunderstood and that your "sigh" is one of lustful bliss rather than angst. I'll try and stay out of the relationships of others but, careful with that girl.

Yeah, but Hawks win! Long time 'hawk fan going back to the days of Denis Savard, Doug Wilson, Larmer, etc.

Huge Roenick fan, so I've closely followed any team he's played for. So it's good to see 3/5 of the teams he's played for in the conference finals and even the lowly 'Yotes tore $hit up this year and actually made the playoffs. Now you know where JR97 comes from. Was originally JR27, but forgot the password for that user.

P.S. All you loser Bruins fans can use the Scream Pillow that I posted above, if you want. LOL!

Now "back to your regularly scheduled program".
Speaking of which; even though the sports talk seems off-topic. I don't think that it is completely. You need diversion people! AKA: A life. Especially when tunnel vision sets in and you're stuck in a losing mindset. That's precisely when accounts go bye-bye.

I had one of those days yesterday..Was in a GBP/JPY short right off of resistance, and locked in break-even after being roughly 60 pips in profit. Some big buyer steps in, drives price up, knocks me out, and then it falls 300 pips. Yeesh!

G/J wipes it's @ss with 60 pips. When I trade the "beast", I trade a lot smaller and go wider on the stops.

over it. some people can take a duke on their keyboard and still money flows into their account. others can spend a lifetime working to become profitable and never getting there.

i'm totally burned-out by forex. it's not satisfying, and not profitable... for me... right now (if ever). it keeps me up at night when i could be enjoying myself or sleeping. the intellectual pursuit has revealed little in mental stimulation anymore and is more-so a continuing revelation of the nature of people only.

for all the times that i smash it out of the park comes that one bad trade that goes pear-shaped in a big bad way. big gains = a big loss eventually. ok trade conservatively and safe, but then small gains = a small but big enough loss eventually that made it all worthless. fail and fail.

i'm one of the 95% or whatever the number is. i wonder if it is really around 5% who eventually get there. i also wonder if it is around the same amount of people in the population who become rich in general. seems to be that those who already have money are the ones who have the ability to trade profitably. money begets more money. if you know how to make money then you simply know, regardless of the situation.

perhaps those of us who are resigned to sucking simply can't see things in the same way as those who are succeeding. too busy looking at the forest, and can't see the trees. unable to peek over the top and inside the box and are stuck staring at the front instead.

i'll no doubt be back losing further money sometime in the near future. probably in about 3 months when i seem to be able to find easy trends to ride according to past history. whatever. probably continue to fail, that IS the prevailing trend. either way it's very unsatisfying having wasted uncountable hours studying and exploring trading and resulting in perpetual losses.

you wouldn't go to work every day to pay your boss and lose money.

well, for now (and maybe forever) i'm destined to be relatively poor. without poor people there can be no rich people so it is a sucky job but someone has to do it. pawns sacrificed to save the king. long live the king.

That's a shame Nub, i always like your posts.

No empty platitudes or advice from me (i'm really not the one to give it out - neither is anyone else but that's beside the point); best of luck in whatever's next.
