I would like to start a journal to see how my plan will go and analyze my thoughts in hindsight. Maybe even it will help someone, which will be great.

OK, so I am in Forex for 2 years. Tried manual systems first on longer time frames, but found out I am indecisive and cannot stick to the plan/system. I figured out I will use automatic technical trading based on superb framework by Mr. Popov. Forex Strategy Builder and Trader - freeware.

http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/t...grimlock-1.jpg

So while I test Dragon approach I do it participating in weekly Instaforex Contest where I can win some money to open live account. It will not be easy since there are over 1000 people every week.

Dragon Approach is that I create strategies/systems in Forex Strategy Builder. I use strategies/systems which have great results in back test and are very active (we have only 1 week) and use few of them simultaneously. Strategies are traded automatically in MT4 by Forex Strategy Trader.

When some of strategies will not bring results I cut them off and put others I created, which has great back testing results.

So for this week I am preparing 8 strategies using 4 currency pairs: EURUSD, GBPJPY, EURJPY, GBPUSD on 5 minutes.

All of them will be trading at once from the beginning of Australia time on Monday.

Some good strategies from previous week:

OK, so it seems my strategies opened the position and because of the large stop loss and take profit they are still in the positions for whole day. This is not good for quick weekly contest. If the contest would be 1 month, maybe it will be good.

So I will have to cut these off and save them for long-term trading.

I will add some other strategies I created with sl 50 and tp 70 and see how they will work.

Strategies from 5 to 8 use broken indicator (wrongly coded), so I have to cut them off too.

As you see I am back to 0 after drawdown. Some strategies worked very well and some just wasted money earned by good ones. Now I have to delete bad ones and add some more good ones.

As Mr. Edison said:
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

Since contest demand 5 lots maximum and I have 4 strategies. I will put 0.5 lot as a standard unit of trade in this week.

This week was good and bad.

Good because two strategies were almost 100% correct.

Bad because I was traveling and could not optimize them and my laptop at home with MT4 and Forex Strategy Trader turned off. I cannot start it remotely unfortunately - it doesn't have Wake on LAN function in BIOS.

I think it is time for VPS.

I am back from the holidays and back to create some profitable framework.

I decided to stop running one week contests, because it takes a lot of time to setup every week - registration, setting up the robots, setting up the monitoring websites and so on.

So from this week I will just run demo on Instaforex feed.
You can click the image for more info:

http://www.myfxbook.com/widget?id=41...e=1&color=blue

When the strategy will be faulty on the live demo then I will replace it. I replaced strategy 120 with 220, because 120 just made a lot of stop losses.

I am still using 0.5 lots or 1 lots with maximum 2 lots as in contest, because ultimately I would like to win this contest if I find nice set of strategies.

Myfxbook have some problems - this week history is gone and they try to bring it back

It seems it is better not to trade on Friday... I lost all my profit on Friday... Live and learn...

They also confirm it

http://www.babypips.com/school/when_...ose_money.html

I will add 3 x 1minute strategies to the pool and see how it goes. 5 minute strategies are open for day or so - I need strategy which will go in and out of position without hanging there.

10% monthly is not bad at all.

I paused one strategy (ID 320) because it always brings bad results.

Lineup for today:

2. 464--sl135-eurjpy-5-jakala-077-18372.xml id 320 paused - always bad trades

State of the fight after a day here in Europe:
It seems that I need to delete these few bad strategies and have profit. Not so easy I suppose! I will give a chance yet those with little loses:

3 strategies are still profitable and 4 went under 0. I could wait and see if they will come back as profitable, but I will put new ones.
One new strategy made big radical loss and I turned it off, but too late.

So I deleted results and bad strategy and left good ones with new promising ones:

For now I have 32% monthly.... Let's see if it stays this way. I will optimize them today to see if we can have better performance.
