background strenght, low vol at the top, 50 fib pullback.
5m highest vol that stands out over recent range with confirmed buyers on 1m.
i took the same setup just off of 1m this time to have a lower stop (5pips) but risked only 0.5%
EDIT> BE set as some sellers hit the market at the spot were previously were initial buyers but they got run thro. not set and forget.

To be honest if you can't be bothered to become a full member here at FF, which takes 5-10 posts. I can't see you being bothered to participate on the discord.

Who ever was in control today didn't even try to hide their actions.

1. M15 Widespread down bar on high volume, look to the left of the body, the body of that bar pushed down and through all that PA. That isn't bullish. If that down bar was into fresh new ground, then it might be a different story.

Obviously that bar alone isn't enough for an entry, we need so see price ignore strength or respond to weakness. Remember accumulation/distribution takes time, no sense in rushing in at the first no demand/no supply.

2. Weakness - No Demand Up thrust with price pushing lower, this is our sign that price is reacting to weakness. After you recognize this, pick your favorite entry.

3. I generally just trade the right edge of the chart, but hard to not notice yesterday's weakness along with today. Not a trade you want to exit quickly.

I noticed that EUR selling started yesterday and today already hard during Frankfurt time. Hmm... Europeans wanted to get rid of Euros

Since Germany is buying much of their energy (gas) now from US and not Russia... could it be that certain big players building up a $$ cushion in case something goes awfully wrong in the debt ceiling theater?

I'm not an economist or a geopolitical expert so I have no idea if nations switching energy suppliers is the cause of the Euro selloff.

Tom Williams the guy who wrote the VSA book Master the Markets liked to say we don't need to know the whys and wherefores of professionals traders. I've tried a few times to follow events but truthfully I just don't find this stuff interesting.

I am from one of the affected countries. The switch is not happen just now... that started already last year with the sanctions and definitely when the Baltic Sea pipelines were blown up.
The matter is the debt ceiling debacle... which just got hot the last few days. What I mean (and that is what I would do if I am a purchasing manager in one of the major energy handler) in anticipation of the potential disruption in the $$$ market (in case the theater turns into a crisis) I would get an extra cushion of $$$ right now as long they are cheap.

GOLD, not the best entry but as long as in the right direction it crossed my target 100 pips ... lol ... I was pretty sure it went there, i even didnt set any SL

when weakness appears it always appears on DOWN bars, weakness never appears on UP bars.
conversely, when strength appears it always appears on UP bars.

The loss was not bad luck. It was bad Analysis - D.Einhorn
I bought off a high volume down bar like a sucker.

1. Initial Sign of Strength - High volume down bar into fresh new ground. Fresh ground being nothing to the left of the body of the bar for the previous 5 bars (wicks are ok!)

2. Higher time frame confirmation - H1 chart, next bar closes up showing price is reacting to the initial sign of strength.

3. Change of trend - Two consecutive up bars with the second bar making a higher high and higher low.

4. Price reacting positively to strength - Hidden test with the next bar closing well above the high of the test showing price is responding to buyers.

5. Entry - Test in a rising market, what else do you need?

And as always don't forget price can turn just as easy on low volume as it can high volume.

Its not really a secret that high volume acts like a magnet for price.

EJ longs are still looking good, price is at the high volume close which is a good area to lock in some profit but with price marking though the low of the high volume so easily that I'm thinking price has a good shot at running to the high of the high volume. I wouldn't expect that to happen today but maybe Monday!
