Do you have a blog where you keep all your trading records? I've seen a few and I really liked the idea. What do you think about that?

Just wondering...

I like myfxbook.com for the analysis. I know it isnt necessarily a blog but it sure is a lot easier. If you are newer then a blog can be a good way to record your thoughts on entries exits and so forth. Maybe you could try the journals section for a while. I found it takes quite a bit of work to keep updated.

To be honest, I'm not comfortable sharing my statements with a third party... otherwise, I'd choose myfxbook. I'll probably do it with blogger or wordpress.

Thanks for replying.

May I ask why you are not comfortable with it? I never did really understand that from some people. The site does allow for you to customize what people can or cannot see. I do a lot of testing with mine and it makes things so much easier for me to see where I need to make adjustments.

Not that Im trying to change your mind, but here is a rundown of the settings. Also, I guess if you are trying to learn from mistakes it isnt as good as a blog would be where you could point out your own successes and (hopefully not too many) failures.

I had used a blogger page quite some time ago but it was such a pain to annotate charts, write on them, and then upload, but now that ive found quicker ways to do it maybe I will get back into the blogging game too.

I don't like sharing with other people what I'm doing, how much money I'm making or losing. For demo, I wouldn't mind, but for a real account... no way.

I see you posted a screenshot showing how you keep your account private. Well, it's private from visitors, but not from people who runs that website.

Let me explain further, if I had a website like that, I'd like to see how people are trading, how much they are making, etc. They probably do the same... and that's the part I don't like.

They probably wouldn't care about my tiny account, but it's not about that. It's about privacy. They show our account is 100% private, but in reality, it's a little less than 100%.

The only place that would be snooping in the way you describe I would think would be your broker. Now I bet they run all sorts of statistics on your account to try and figure the best way to screw you. What is your main stoploss tactic, take profits, how often are you right over wrong. Whats your favorite pair and time to trade, as they (the broker) are only set to gain from your mistakes. This is especially scary when you read through the virtual dealer plugin thread (http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=70582). Besides, simpleton sites like myfxbook probably dont care about my measily 75% gain when they have other folks doing 1,000's%

I do have the same worries with some of the VPS companies I have been looking into though. All the ones geared towards forex traders seem to be readily available to help you load your mt4 and/or your EA. Uhm, no thanks, I think I can load it myself (especially since the EA's have been privately developed and are not in the public domain) but then I think that they could just backdoor their way in. One reason I would rather go to a big provider like 1and1 or godaddy to rent server space. I feel they would be less likely to give a crap about what I am running.

Anyways, good luck in starting your blog and let us know how its going!
