I've made an EA that is presently trading $175k worth of live accounts and has doing about 140 pips per day for the past 2 months. Just wondering about how unusual/usual these kind of returns are? The EA that I've made does not use doubling down / martingale-like methods but does use a lot of hedging. The system trades about 130 time per month and holds trades from a few hours to a week or so, with most trades lasting about 2 or 3 days on average.
The size of the wins are around 90 pips and the size of the losses are around 120 pips, and it wins around 70% of its trades.
Anyway, I'm posting this info really just to get a sense of how this seems to others out there. To me and others involved it seems quite unusual, almost one of those "too good to be true" scenarios... I'm wondering if there are a lot of others out there working with systems like this or if this is uncommon. By my standards this is a low-risk set-up -- I don't think I've ever seen it at more than 1:25 leveraging total market volume. The monthly returns are around 25% or so.
Any comments from any other traders? Does this sound like a good system? Does it sound like just another one of those systems that is bound to fail? (I don't think so, as I control the total risk exposure quite carefully...)
