Disliked@ Scooby
Are you running two demos - one Holy Grail latest version with news filter on, and the other without? It would be interesting to compare them running on the same server with the same broker to see which trades were missed when using the news filter and whether it made any difference whether they were missed or not.Ignored
DislikedIf all 3 EMA's are pointing in the same direction then it is going to take some special news to knock the trades ofcourse hitting the ADR SL.Ignored
DislikedAre you really using the ADR (Average Daily Range) for the SL? That would certainly give it lots of room - about 200 (or so) pips on GBPJPY. Is R:R still 1:1?Ignored
DislikedThe markets have been very slow today after the antics of Friday.
My new version only placed 3 trades so far today for 1.84% ROI.

DislikedYou didn't post any new versions from many weeks (1.6). And you promised to post the last one last sunday. Can we still believe to have any update, or your THG is so good that we have to forget it (from my 10 years experience in Forex, generally speaking any EA in development disepear when it starts to produce some good returns).
From my side, and I am very happy to share without restrictions, this the version 525C.
Use it only in mode1, so attach only to UsdChf M5. In demo from 3/3/2010, 7% ROI, very Low DD.

Dislikedoriginal bot took two losses for me last night, both with hedging. Hedging doesn't seem to be helping much at all, in both cases it just added more loss to the basket.Ignored
DislikedNo,
I have decided to ignore all news for the time being.
To some extent markets already factor in potential news +/- so I want to see if the EA can handle this based on its EMA's.
If all 3 EMA's are pointing in the same direction then it is going to take some special news to knock the trades ofcourse hitting the ADR SL.
Obviously i wouldnt run it during NF etc as that is just a coin toss.

DislikedThat has been my experience with the bot also. Trade expiration has not solved the problem either since a trade can be close to the basket stoploss when trade expiry occurs.
I also tried settings that reduced the basket stoploss, but that does not give the trades enough room to breathe and increases the stoploss frequency.Ignored

DislikedSadly, have to agree - IMHO this bot does not look profitable long term in its present form.Ignored
DislikedI still think the strategy of this EA is brilliant (thank you Scooby and Steve). Question is: can we think of a way to either filter opening trades based on some observed pattern of a likely failure or come up with a clever way to cut losing trades short so that it can be profitable long term. I wish I was smarter and could suggest how, but then there are many brilliant minds participating in this thread who might have some insight into the problem/solution.Ignored
