I have been on FF for quite a while now, and there are a LOT of methods that have been presented that sound good at the start but wither out for one reason or another: market conditions changed and the system went from making money to losing money, etc. What I would REALLY like to see and what I have not seen at FF so far is some kind of listing of systems that people have found to be effective and make pips consistently. I am looking for a system(s) that can make a fairly consistent 200-400 pips per week. I am not even sure that such a manual trading method even exists on FF as I have not seen one yet that has enough people following it that make that kind of considerable return.

If someone out there has seen or uses a system that falls into that category, I would love to hear from them! And if anyone has seen such a ranking list, I would love to see it.

You wont find it and there is a reason. There are ample models and methodologies on here for free and it is up to you as a person looking to make a career or hobby out of this venture to do some research. The question would be why do you want a ranking system? If the answer is because you just want to short cut to the in and now systems so that you can bypass the hard yards that people have put then it simple isnt going to happen.

There are too many people who are about (and I tire from it) that just DONT understand the reality and the time scope of trading. Quick fixes in all aspects of life generally lead to quick breakdowns. This isnt a quick fix thing and asking to rank systems based on current performance or overall performance just will not happen.

Learn a trading method that suits you though it's not gonna be easy. When you do find one, stick to it and modify it until you can call it your own. Trust me it's not gonna work 100% and often times fail. So now you are probably asking why some do become successful? The answer is no secret...

1. Trading Psychology
=> there's an ebook with that title

2. Money Management
=> with good MM, this lets you save more on good runs and lose less on $#$$#^%$#^$ days

The question at hand is: would you trust with YOUR MONEY something OTHER PEOPLE post? Why donīt you do some system evaluation for Yourself?

There ARE systems that are profitable and there are those, which arenīt. Amount of pips is irrelevant.

I really hope that "amount of people following something" is not your indicator of whether some method MAKES MONEY or NOT. If you do what the majority does, youīll end up like the majority. Donīt you forget that.

Let me get this straight. You want to find PROFITABLE systemīs (for free) performance evaluation (for free) and itsī comparison (for free) with other profitable systems(for free). Not to scare you away - there are systems here in FF which are profitable IFF you are willing to do what it takes to get to the money. But thereīs no free lunch...

Even if you found a system that others claim to be profitable is no guarantee that you can replicate success. I believe different people using the same software will get very different results. Even using the same setup, trading different times will produce variations. And of course there is the very human tendency to remember the last trade and to try to repeat it (or avoid it) and this will skew the results of different people. What I am saying is that software can help but it also requires the skill and judgment of the person using it.

Being a Word guru doesn't make you a writer. Being an Excel guru doesn't make you an accountant.

You have had a few good replies already but I am going to pitch in with my tuppence ha'penny's worth.

What time scale do you want to trade? 1 hour a day (daily trading) or screen burn 24 hours a day on the 5 minutes chart?

Even the best indicator based systems fall down in certain market conditions. Being a good trader is understanding those conditions and adjusting risk accordingly. People say indicators don't work. It's true, they don't work. That's why they're called indicators and not fact. But most indicators are great tools. Look at a hammer. It doesn't get things done but in the right hands it makes something possible, maybe with the help of some knowledge and a couple of other tools?

Somebody mentioned money management. Could you take 5 losses in a row and still trade mechanically with the same risk? I doubt it. And if you can't you'd better get out now.
