Hello everyone,

I have a big problem with my MT4 ... when I hit the "Strg-i" combination, the indicator window does not open. I can only hear the windows-sound for "error" ...

I have absolutely no way to reach the indicatory, which are attached to my chart.

I can add new ones by drag-and-drop, but if one indicator is placed, there is no way to open that indicator-window with "Strg-i" ...

It looks like my MT4 is "frozen" ... whatever I klick with the mouse, whatever I type at the keyboard, the only result is that "windows-error-sound" ...

Only the ESC-key helps, and after that, I can work with my MT4 as before, exept the indicator-window. It does not make any difference, what chart or what profile I select.

Any helping ideas are welcome

greetings from germany,
DL4HAO

What Operating system are you running? Is it Windows, Macintosh or Linux? This has happened to me before. It sounds like the indicator Window is opening but off-screen out of view. ( I assume Strg-i is German for Ctrl+i.) When you press Escape, it closes the window again, giving focus back to the main window. To get out of this, you need to use keyboard control to bring the window back into view. After you have opened the Indicator List box, try using Alt+F7,(which allows the Move Command on the Indicator List box), and then the various arrow keys to see if you can bring it back. But do 20 to the left, and then, if it does not appear, 20 to the right, to bring it back, then 20 more to the right to see if it is buried on the other side. Otherwise, you may end up sending it even further away, lol.....

Royston,

your answer was very helpfull ... 1001 thx ...

now I know, how I generated that problem ... (which is more important than solving it) ...

yesterday I bought a new 2nd 23 ī TFT-Display for my 15ī notebook and just right after I saw your posting here, I connected that 2nd TFT-display to my notebook and all was ok. There, in the extreme corner of the 2nd Display was that open indicator-window ...

*puh*

I donīt have connected that 2nd TFT all the time because

1. I need that display only during trading hours

2. I love it, using my notebook in the weekend-morning-hours sitting in my bed ... and that is not so easy with such BIG TFT connected

thankful greetings from here,
DL4HAO (Dietmar)

1) Close MT4.
2) Open MT4 config folder, for example C:/Program files/FxPro Metatreder/ config and open file "terminal.ini". In that file change strings:

IndicatorsLeft=xxxx set it to 500
IndicatorsTop=xxxx 200
IndicatorsRight=xxxx 400
IndicatorsBottom=xxxx 300

3) Save file and close it.
4) Open MT4 and press Ctrl+I

Here is an example:

Hi Dietmar,

It can be useful if there is no second display near at hand... or when it's hard to get out of bed

Happy trading!
