I dont know how you coded your indicator that would lock up MT. What I have on my terminal is a dozen code blocks most have a mouse over menu, a drag and drop icon or other trigger to make them run, if the trigger is not applied the code shorts circutes on the first line in the start function. that is if( ! mouseOverXX ) return; type of statement. which has never locked up MT. I have one code that draws candles of different time scales and it has to wate to draw them when first called because of the way MT has to be forced to down load price data not native to the current chart. This I do by short circurting the code as well, You can not even scale the chart window till all the data is downloaded.
