Hi,
got a headache. Does metatrader repaint or redraw its Moving averages.

I swear blind when I make an entry decision thats possibly not totally 110% if I look back later in the day I ask myself, why on earth did I do that.

I'm wondering if the fine tune themselves even after the bar has closed.

?

Actually, I think you're taking the MA value of current bar (latest one) which will keep changing until the bar is fully closed... I had faced similar problems on few occasions...

Anyways, I had not seen your EA / indicator and this is the best guess I can do with available info...

Cheers

Current bar ALWAYS repaints - Use a lower timeframe and at least 1 bar back to confirm the higher TF. Zero shift will repaint, 1+ is usually pretty stable.

Hi,

I know the current bar does but once that's complete is that it, no change.

I sort of know it isn't possible (to repaint) as its a moving average of the data at the time but I'm questioning my sanity at the moment, just want to make sure.

Its silly because its so obvious but I need to make sure because I'm starting to feel it is different when i look back... but it can't be.. can it ??

Thanks
Kev

Very easy solution. print screen when you enter trade. go back few hours later and print screen again. see what you were thinking at trade time and see how it developed and you will see whatever indi you have and if it repainted on you or not.

very good tool anyway - keep journal like this ( picture of chart at entering time and pic of chart later down the road)
