Trying to delete Historical data in Metatrader!

hi

having trouble deleting history from metatrader!
i go to the history center and select & delete the last months data, it deletes
go to the chart and refresh and the chart still shows the last month
go back to the history center and the last month data has reappeared!

it appears to be redownloading the data, how i can stop that or how can do this, the only way i seem to be able to do this is by disconnecting from the net completely, opening an offline chart doesnt seem to work either...

any help appreciated!

delete your username first then delete the history data.

what do you mean delete my username?

As long as you're logged in to your broker, it will automatically download a few recent months of data the moment you open a chart.

if you don't want it to do that, you must be logged off from your broker's server. The only way to do that while still maintaining your internet connectivity I think is to delete your account from your MT4 client. The process can't be simpler. Just right click on your account number in the "Accounts" icon on the left. then choose "Delete".

If you want your current account to remain, you should Install a separate new instance of MT4 client. then in this new one, don't create a demo account. that way when you open chart, it won't download data. You should still be able to download history data from MetaQuotes although I can't be too sure.

so whats the point in an offline chart? (I.E. FILE > OPEN OFFLINE)#


i was thinking it was like "work offline" as in intenet explorer function

and to elaborate on why i need to do this, it is because an indicator apparently cannot be changed to show results prior to the last 750 bars of data, so my thinking was to remove the last 750 bars so that i could test the next 750 bars!
lol this is getting complicated!
any ideas how i might overcome that problem in itself would be great lol

it can't be changed because you don't have the source codes?

yes that would be correct and developer said it was 2 difficult to change the icustom calls from the default
