DislikedThere's some real potential, for other pairs also, would like to see fixed stoploss option some pairs you dont need full stoploss calculated, adds to your RR. also if possible adding % to lot size as an option would help RR . I see that spx usually goes 100% of IB, but sometimes stoploss is 10pips sometimes 20p then ive seen a loss at 35p, so with fixed a big SL can wipe multiple trades but with % loss or win is same RR hope this makes sense. Just some suggestions. def trying the system out THx for sharingIgnored
Disliked{quote} Yama49, thanks for downloading the EA and taking the time to back test it. I appreciate all and any feedback. So, let me address your message: 1. Fixed stop loss: okay, would it be a RR % stop loss or a pip amount? 2. % Lot Size instead of fixed lot size: I've thought about this before, but since I feel the EA does better in Index Futures, I set it as fixed lot size. 3. You're right about setting the SL as fixed can sometimes wipe out profits. 4. You can deactivate the trailing stop loss by setting those settings to 0. I'll...Ignored
DislikedToday's S&P500 futures moves. Price broke above IB, and almost reached TP. But my trailing SL was triggered. {image}Ignored
Disliked{quote} Nice one fortyfive. Can I ask if the upper green dashed line was the TP? Also, would it be possible for you to share the template thanks, blamIgnored
Disliked{quote} Thanks Blamshakk for following and participating in the thread man! So the TP is that little blue dash that's right below the 4430 price level. It's hard to see but I don't know how to change that with MT4 EAs. Also I think it might be just the way it looks on MT4 for Mac. Regarding the template, check out this post: https://www.forexfactory.com/thread/...6#post14622446Ignored
Dislikedhey fortyfive You mentioned that you don't trade on days with high impact news. Would it be possible to implement a news filter on the EA, maybe using forex factory's own news feed, to avoid the EA trading on days with really high impact news events eg NFP Second question, I noticed in the screenshots that it's placed on an M1 timeframe, does timeframe matter for this EA or is it chart timeframe independent Third question, the intial balance period starts 9.30am EST although NY starts at 8am EST. Just checking that was all correct? I'm sure it is,...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Hey man, so the news filter, I have thought about it but my building skills aren't that advanced yet. I have changes I want to make to the EA, both personal and from previous suggestions in this thread, but with work and other personal projects I will probably get to them over Thanksgiving and Christmas time so that 2024 I can take this project live. Remember that the initial balance is the first hour of trading. That can vary from market to market and time zone to time zone. I'm using this EA on S&P500 futures, which rely on the NY trading...Ignored
Disliked{quote} hey man sounds like you've got some nice improvements on the horizon for this system. Thanks for the information about the market hours, (SP500 is different opening time from US forex) that makes sense now - I wasn't aware of the distinction before, mostly because I'm more used to forex The other question was about the chart timeframes - I noticed from your screenshots that it looks like you're using an m1 chart is that right? Can you speak at all about what timeframes if any we should be using for the EA, or if the EA is timeframe independent?...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Blamshakk, yeah I use M1 timeframe but just because it's futures, so I just basically look at the chart from 9:30am EST to 4:00pm EST, and I like seeing any sudden moves. I've backtested the EA up to the 30min chart but in theory, yeah the EA is timeframe independent.Ignored
