Forex Books you would Recommend

I'm looking for suggestions one some good forex books to read. It would really help me out if you could list some books that have helped you become a better and more profitable trader.

Those should be required reading by anyone that wants to trade profitably.

No, you will have to read them for yourself.
You may not get out of these books what I got, like trading these books will provide personal revelations.

Sorry, was just looking for a quick review of each book and how it helped. I don't think that is asking too much.

I don't do book reviews...... suffice it to say if you are serious about trading you are going to have to put in some sweat equity.

Trade Your Way to Financial Freedom, by Van Tharp

I'd recommend keeping your reading to a limited number of books rather than employing the scatter-gun approach of learning little bits of everything. When you first start out you don't know what you need to know, because you don't know it yet. Enthusiastic as you may be, unless you have a set curriculum (by a mentor possibly), reading from a broad spectrum of literature (much of which will contradict itself) is likely to confuse you. You will never be a completely green newbie again so it is important to learn the right things in the right way. Once you get an idea into your head, like a bad habit, it is hard to change. If you can capture the essence of the markets early, then it can save you a lot of time and money.

I'm sure everyone here has their favourite trading books, specific to the methods they trade. I say give these strategy specific books a wide berth for the moment. A bit like the newb who goes to babypips.com and learns the basics of a variety of lagging indicators and is given examples of how they can make money, it implants the notion that 1. forex is easy, and 2. like power-ups on a WoW game or whatever BS people are playing these days, the more indicators you give your 'avatar' the better. Both of course are completely misleading. Better to keep your mind as clear as possible and learn the common factors that are key to any successful trading strategy. The suggestions so far have been excellent, in particular the Douglas book, but I would like to add:

Fooled By Randomness - Nicholas Nassim Taleb

A great book in my opinion, and one that seems to be shared by others, both traders and otherwise.

There are so many different directions you can take at this stage that it is impossible to recommend a book or particular style. Perhaps when you have finished reading the suggested literature you might have some more idea which path you think you may be going down, then someone further along the way could help.

No book will make you a profitable trader.
Do your own stuff. Copying will not work.
If you need to learn the basics you can
find a quick summary somewhere on the net.
It's not that much.

Oddly enough, that's the second time I've heard of this book this week.
Professional poker player Huck Seed recommended it, and since traders
and poker players share a similar mindset (there is apparently a non-stop
poker game going on in the lounge of the NYSE; it's a $500 buy-in),
that book could be useful to us, too.

I've read books that have changed my life and books that have improved my performance as a trader. You just need an open mind.

2. Fortune's Formula
3. TA for Dummies
4. Market Wizards/New Market Wizards
5. Beat the odds in forex
6. Winning on Betfair for Dummies. (good if you know what to look for)
7. The TAO of poker. (much recommended in the options community and one of my all time fav)
8. Would like to add...The Wisdom of Crowds.

One thing I noticed though, the more expensive the book, the more useless it is.
