Disliked{quote} Nice take-off I'm just curious how did you choose certain parameters such as grid size or profit lock which seems to be an accurate number of 0.89? Did you just optimize it for EU or you did something more? That would be great to share your ideas on your criteria for optimizing the parametersIgnored
Disliked{quote} Same here! I tested with to mt4 platforms. One on my laptop and one on the VPS. Former was almkst like you and got margin call stop out. The latter, however, made around 150% with approx 40% DD Bkth EU M5, since 2020-01-01 Is it really strange? Or maybe it is not that shocking because of different histories. IDKIgnored
Disliked{quote} I think maybe I found the problem, it is because when you enable Alert Yellow at very beginning moment of Icarus is executed, there is no buy and sell cycles, that will cause a failure from trading server for the reason of an order is sent with 0 lots. (That is, when you press the BUY or the SELL button, a message box with you confirm you for the number of lots you are going to open, but it actually sent a zero lots to open the order.) Neither this is my coding error, nor a bug of Icarus. Because under normal cases, no one will try to open...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Hmmm, no clou, it´s on a 1:400 € Acc, I downloaded the history of Metaquotes, so this should not cause a problem for you to duplicate. I test it with 10 MT4 points, in average I trade on 0.2 pips but with 6 € com roundturn, thats why I take 10 points... One think comes up in my mind: My broker does not charge any margin for hedged positions (rare, but superb important when griding in both directions), maybe this is the explanation we are searching for... CheersIgnored

DislikedMetaquotes history has issues that prevent backtesting properly. This is a BT with my own broker's history but with Grid Progress = 3 instead of 0: (By changing it to 0 it was a margin call) {image} This one is also with my broker's history data but on the VPS and with a low-quality model but good result: {image} However, this one is a backtest with MetaQuotes history data which caused to call margin. I attached the chart to see what happened: ps. the parameters are exactly the same as MaPy's You can see the price started to failing with the initial...Ignored

Disliked{quote} Hi Farzad Thanks for sharing these tests results. Can you also run the same tests for GBPUSD, EURGBP and USDJPY. I am sure the tests results will help us all learn something more about the market conditions during the same time period and what we shall do when we are forward testing in realtime markets. Thank you.Ignored
Disliked{quote} I tell you the reason why. Icarus prefers a smaller grid size but not too small. a too small grid size will cause margin calls. Then what is the appropriate grid size for Icarus? It depends on the swinging range of the market. That is why I suggest use ATR to decide the grid size. If You can predict the range of a swinging market by whatever means, for instance, 50 PIPs, you may divide 50 by n, where n less than the max positions you set, and greater than the number of new positions you are going to add progressively. You have to make sure...Ignored
